Chapter 7
Yes we should said Maxie we haven’t eaten in almost 28 hours. Maxie and John got out of the car and walked into the dinner. It wasn’t a big fancy dinner like what Luke would have taken her to but she seemed to like it better then something like le franchisor. John and Maxie sat down a crossed from each other. John ordered for her, he asked for two cheese burgers with fries and a chocolate milk shake for two. Maxie looked at John and she had so much to say to John but couldn’t find the words to say to him. John looked at Maxie with a smile it has been a few hours sense she last seen him smile.
As Maxie was about to tell John what she had told Luke about John. The waitress came with their food. Thank you said John as the waitress walked away. Maxie and John sat in silence as they ate there food neither of them touched the milkshake until all the food was gone. As they finished their milk shake. John seen something in Maxie’s eyes that he had never seen before he didn’t know what it was though. Just seeing her smile made him feel like he was on top of the world.
John and Maxie got up from the table and back to the car. They continued driving for the rest of the day. Maxie said John look out your window we are in Kentucky. Maxie was amazed she had never been outside Delaware before and it was so exciting. As the sun started to raise all Maxie could do was stare at John and think about how much she cared for him. She could never tell her best friend how she felt about him. John with his eyes on the road ahead of him could only think of how much he cared for Maxie but how could he tell his best friend how he felt about her. John looked at the road with sadness in his eyes what’s wrong John Maxie asked. Nothing said John as he continued driving.
