First Mission

"Hey Aoi-chan, could you come in here for a bit?" Shinobu asked the girl.

"Oh yeah sure Shinobu-sama." Aoi replied walking towards the young woman's direction.

"Well um... okay so, Inosuke-kun is going on a mission tomorrow morning." Shinobu explained

Aoi nodded

"And I want you to go with him. It's a possibility that it's the demon who has been appearing in both of your dreams, Inosuke-kun had told me."

"What!? I can't fight at all!" Aoi panicked in fear, this was selfish of her but she really couldn't.

"I'm not forcing this on you, but I feel it will take some weight off your shoulders. And do take into consideration that Inosuke-kun will be there with you and will protect you at any cost." Shinobu had said with a very serious face. She was not kidding around.

What if I'm too much trouble for Inosuke-kun? He still needs to kill the demon.

Her head was filled with negative thoughts and it started stressing her out.

"I'll have a think about it, thank you Shinobu-sama."
Aoi replied in her usual serious tone and walked off.

As soon as she was out of sight, she gasped for air. She was terrified of picking up a sword again. Could she really fight demons? Final selection was luck for her, not skill.
Though Inosuke would be with her, she didn't want to trouble him. What if he got seriously injured trying to protect her? Or worse... dying.

It scared her so much. This was a lot to take in. If Shinobu-sama said she should go... she probably should go. Was she really ready?

But hey... if it's that demon that ruined her future... she shouldn't hesitate killing it. It really would make her happier. But does she really want to take that risk?

"Fuck off I will kill that demon." Aoi whispered to herself.

Shinobu had given Aoi permission to train her sword skills and basic physical skills. For that time, she was there at the Butterfly Mansion to train. But she only knew how to do the First Form: Water Surface Slash.

She didn't want to have help from anyone. She didn't want to waste anybody's time. She could ask Tanjiro-kun but he's recovering so she really shouldn't. Actually Tanjiro-kun might've just left for a mission.

She had a good understanding about the Second Form: Water Wheel. But she should probably practice that one a lot, she could easily mess that one up.

After training for just that day, picking up her sword wasn't so scary. She definitely needed more help with the Second Form, though. But it was fine. Hopefully it all works out by then.

She stopped by Shinobu-sama just after the sun had just set. Shinobu was discussing the mission with her and that it would all work out just fine. Shinobu then handed the girl a new butterfly clip for her hair.

"This contains Wisteria inside of it. If you take it out of your hair, the wisteria will then activate. It is not enough to kill the demon, however it will weaken them. Giving you a chance to slice it's head off if you're having trouble." The woman explained in a serious tone.

The Wisteria made Aoi feel calmer about this mission. Really, she has nothing to be terrified of.

She thanked Shinobu and walked over to where Inosuke-kun was. She had a lesson with him. It had to be delayed because of her training but it was fine. She planned to only discuss the news about the mission to the boy, and if they had time, they could start the actual lesson.

"Hey, sorry but the lesson was delayed so we can start now." Aoi informed Inosuke.

"Oh okay, sure." He replied.

As they walked over to the room they normally have the lessons in. It was silent. Aoi started feeling queasy about the mission, but it was too late now. There was no turning back.

They got to the room and both sat down.

"So... I'm going with you on your mission tomorrow." Aoi said looking at Inosuke in the eyes.

"Really!? That's great! The Great Inosuke-sama will protect you!" He exclaimed proudly.

Aoi looked down to he legs, she didn't look happy about it. Inosuke noticed and stopped right away.

"I think you'll do wonderful. We will kill that demon and we won't get anymore bad dreams!" He said putting the boar mask over his head and adjusting it.

"Yeah. We'll kill that demon!" Aoi said showing excitement. Though she was still a bit scared, this was a responsibility. Other Demon Slayers could do it, so she could too. That's what Aoi told herself.

"I want sleep so I won't be tired when we head out in the morning. So I'm going to leave now. You should too." Aoi said in her usual strict tone, standing up and exiting the room.

"She's so cool... brave too." Inosuke thought to himself in astonishment, normally girls were scared of him. But she was enough to scare him, he then stood up and headed towards his room.

Inosuke woke, it was around 6 am, Tanjiro had also gotten up at that moment aswell.

"Inosuke! I heard you're leaving for a mission today! Shame I couldn't join you. Also, if I remember correctly, you're leaving with Aoi-san. She said she wasn't brave or strong enough to continue to slay demons so you best take care of her. I wish you both good luck!" Tanjiro said with his usual sweet tone.

"Of course I will succeed protecting her! That's what a leader does! Oi forehead, do you know when your next mission is?" Inosuke questioned Tanjiro.

"I think I have one near the city tomorrow. I'm not the biggest fan of the city. It's always filled with people and it's quite overwhelming. But I'm sure I'll be fine, I have Nezuko along with me." Tanjiro mentioned as he turned to his left with the wooden box in the corner.

"Don't die there, Tanjiro." Inosuke said whilst walking out the room.

I like this chapter, it's pretty nice but I think I'll have trouble with writing the next chapter. I think it's going to be a while before the next update too.
