Arrgh.. The thing that I was wanted to avoid so dreadfully was running after me and finally caught me that too so dramatically . I seriously detested shopping trips and now I was being forced to go for one !
" There is no way that I am going for shopping." I protested.
"Yes, you are." Anna firmly declared.
Before I could say anything Jake interrupted me.
"We knew that you would refuse to go. That is why we planned the whole kidnapping thing. And see, here you are with us."
Everyone gave me a 'Now you have no choice' look.
Okay, so what else could go wrong today. This was going to be one day!
We went to the the nearest mall. I felt like a robot 'doing only what I was told to'.
I tried many dresses but it all felt a waste of time. I didn't like the cut of some or the color or if I liked both ,it didn't seem to fit well. Finally Anna's eyes set upon a blue strapless dress. At first I was too hesistant to try it on but after seeing Anna glaring at me I thought Just go with it.
When I examined the dress in the mirror, it seemed to fit me fine. It was not flowing and not too fit. It hugged my curves perfectly. The dress ended just above my knee. When I stepped out the three of them were laughing hard at some kind of inner joke.
I coughed to get there attention. Their expressions suddenly changed into something very serious. I was confused. Why are they looking at me like this ? Is there some problem in this dress ?
"You look gorgeous!" Anna was the first one to break the silence.
"Yea! You look hot dude." Jake commented next.
I sighed in relief and gave both of them a smile. Just then I noticed Cam staring at me. He hadn't uttered a word yet. He was staring at me as if he had never seen me before.
I gave him a quizical look and he stopped staring at me. He shove his hands in his pockets(something which he does whenever he is nervous.)
"So..umm..let's buy this." He finally spoke.
We all nodded in union.
Finally, the trip was over
Not so soon dear , you have a party to attend. A voice inside my head reminded me.
"Ohk guyz, so be ready at 7. Cam and I will there to pick you up." Jake said to me and Anna.
Anna, Ret and I rented this one appartment together. We could have afforded invidual appartments for each of us, but we wanted to live together like simple people.
When I reached home with Anna it was alreasy 5. I didn't find Ret in the house and I was quite worried. I hadn't seen her in like 18 hours.
"Where's Ret been all day ? " I asked Anna, not able to contain my curiosity.
"Oh.I don't know. Maybe she's just hanging around with some guy." Anna replied half-mindedly.
This was weird. Ret never left us without telling us about her whereabouts. Either of us always knew where she was.
I took a one hour nap before the party. This had been a hectic day and I clearly needed rest.
My body clock woke me up at nearly 6. I took a shower and headed towards the drawer to get my dress. Just as I entered the room, I saw that Anna was already dressed up. Her dress was blacka and the front was very simple but her back was bare.All in all she looked beautiful.
I quickly changed into my dress and Anna helped me with my hairdo. For the record, I am a mess with it comes to doing a perfect hairdo and that's why I had Anna.
"What would I do without you."
"You probably will never have to think about that, my friend. You'll always have me to help with your hair-do." She replied with a wink.
The aww-friendship moment was interrupted by a doorbell. Ofcourse it had to be the two devils.
I went downstairs to open the gate.
When I saw the two people standing there, for a moment I thought that I couldn't breathe. It wasn't the two devils. The two people standing at my doorstep with a huge bouqet and a gift box were my parents.
SHIT! What are they doing here? Does this day has to get any worse ?
My parents hardly visited. I was just fifteen but still I saw them only on Thanksgiving and New Year's eve. I lived quite an independent life. They are many of my classmates who wish that they were also leading an independent life like me but they probably didn't know anything about the hell that I lived in. If not for Anna and Ret, I would have passed away years ago.
Today my parents seemed very excited. It was very unusual of them to come and see me in the middle of their so called 'hectic schedule'.
"Happy Birthday dear" they shouted in excitement.
Oh my god! How could I forget my very own birthday ?
