Izumi Midorya stands in front of her school of Aldera Junior High as she softly inhaled in a bit of nervousness, fear...and newfound purpose. How many years had it been since she herself told of the crimes Aldera had left for her for more than a year, ones that Izumi took care of herself? She would have taken care of it herself, at least that's what she says, of it wasn't for that fateful day. She can still remember what it was like....some good did come from it.

Izumi placed her hands upon the Skull Heart and inhaled softly as she gulped, feeling the power surge through her chest and body as she realized the woman, Double, was being true to her form.

A new voice called from the depths of her mind, a regal and imposing tone, as if the skull was alive for what it's worth

...Oh sweet, sweet child of youth, one born of suffering and may continue to suffer...what is your wish...?

It took a little bit to compose herself, her being only a few years old and hearing such a scary voice echo in her head scaring the bejeezus in her soul. She gulped down, gently rubbing the skull's hard exterior. "....I...I wish..." she stuttered softly, before slowly getting the grips of what her next words would be.

"....I..I wish I can become the next skullgirl...but not for fame, not for power...not for anything to hurt those that don't deserve such a pained life...I...I wanna be a hero for their sakes...even if I die, I'll die....knowing their okay..."

Double stared for a moment at the young woman, seeing the resolve and determination in the young girls eyes. Her...aura felt different now. It felt oh so compatible to the Skull Heart's wishes, and yet...wasn't. The Skull Heart disappeared softly as the blue aura slowly became green, as the power enveloped her body, painlessly transferring such a gift into the young girl. She smiles as she saw not a glint of change in her body or face...

...she guesses dreams do come true.

Izumi rubbed the skin on her arms as she looks up to the school, now recalling what her eyes looked like now....she wasn't so sure if they'd scare the others or make her look, well..cool. Her eyes were the normal deep emerald they were..but now with a lighter shade of green shaping up two halves of a skull on her separate eyelids. She was scared to see such a change at first, but..it was at least tame in comparison to what she could do, as Lady Double had said.

As for the years that followed with the duo? Well, she vividly remembered the day Double had brought the young girl home, the smile on Inko's face, but the overall concern for the fact her "baby Izumi" had skulls for pupils. Though, Lady Double was always quick to react, saying Izumi's "quirk" manifested into something beautiful in order to protect her from the cold, and that Lady Double had found her suitable refuge in order to protect her.

Of course, that was a lie..but sometimes, lying partly is better than saying the full truth, as to just refute public or personal panic...the last think Inko needed to know was that Izumi willingly risked her soul on a cursed wish that, while giving her the power to save everyone, could have equally destroyed everyone as well.

Still, it made Izumi smile as she slowly stood herself up to step herself into Aldera. After all those years, she's returned to remake herself as not a pathetic loser, but a legitimate student who doesn't need to be picked on.
