In the night, angels stood behind the falling shadow of every screaming soul, watching as the devil was standing chaining them in immortal hell, laughing over the disappointed angels who no longer can free the souls from pain, but can only stand watching them from a distance. Night falls within the sadness of GOD, where the dawn breaks with the cry of sleeping angels. Under the arched window, Lester is standing there watching, as the kite is trembling in agony and pain, lying in the moonlight just beside Amy, the pain comes, awakening them both in a trembling scream. Lester could see as she was shivering in the silence, with her beak parted. The moon seemed to be fixed in her black round eye, just as it was always reflected in the eyes of Amy. He stood wondering over his own words, which he had said for Amy. "Am I seeking death for my sister? What hell could be worse for me than this hell, that makes me call Asriel myself? Why? Why? Is this the curse of those souls who played with me in the dark world of Sardonyx? Who would be in search of me? Immortality crushed the soul, but for the devil, it became the ruling power over the world.

The days were passing, and now even the scream of Amy, fading, as she lay without whispering a single scream, as her painful misery seemed to have ceased her soul, as in a dead body. She was hanging from the rope of her last breath, which was too immortal to leave her.

Her life became the same as that wounded kite, who became silent, with her wings no longer trembling. She was lying with her neck molded backwards, with her beak open to her painful soul, which wanted to fly but could not make a dive. The moon was shedding its light over her wings; and her eyes were bulging out, smothering the mystery of pain behind. The wings which were flopping in pain did not have any strength to tremble any more now, just as Amy's pain finally made her, too, silent. Pain is overruling the immortal lives; the one who is living must taste the doom of it.

Lester stood holding the little jewelry box, with the key behind it, and the mysterious music started to play out in the eerie silence: the little ballerina started to dance in the circle, and he saw its shadow twisting over the painting of daisies behind it. The wind came out from the immortal world, and started inside through the open arches, listening to the whispers of both souls. Lester took a long gaze at Amy, who was lying the same as the kite, both breathing for death now. Why there is no more voice in Amy? Why had she become so silent? A tear appeared in his metallic eye. Now the raspy melody became silent again; the ballerina paused in the same posture. "Oh, Amy, I can see as your bones starts to show through your fragile skin! I can see as your hair starts to consume the dust! And here I am standing, to suffer punishment in loneliness, dying to listen your voice. Every time, I waited for you to call my name, but I don't hear even a single whisper from you. You are lying in front of me, but where are you, Amy? Every night I stand under this moon, who knows what I have become now; I wish I could have departed to the hell in the sky, rather than having the worst of it on the earth. My sins have shattered you. My every sorrow is hidden inside your pain. You are silent now, although I can listen to your screaming soul. But your silence is cursed for me. Say something!" Only the knifing wind came listening to his voice, where the silence remained with no whisper of her.

The days pass: the moon comes, and soon sinks in the shore of the dark deep sky; and when it appears again, it hears only the fearful screaming voices filled with miseries, from the world of immortals below the sky. When the fading light of the moon fell over the darkness of the immortal world, it terrified the sky to see the haunted souls of the immortals in agony, longing for the end of their pain and misery; and the moon whispered all the night to God. "Oh, Lord the earth is wounded! The immortals are swallowing it like wild beasts. The earth is crying and bleeding out. I stand all night in the canopy of the same moonlight. My tears are dried in the sorrow coming out from my eyes, just like the blood of Amy. But my heart cries immensely in her silent pain. She has always been my only treasure to live for. I can see myself collapsing in the grief I have to face, as a torturing punishment for me; but still, I don't want her to go and leave me." Lester became silent, gazing down over the dim fading light of the moon; and then he spoke again, raising his glance to the dark empty sky. "Is that what you always wanted, Asriel? Am I avenged over the threat I gave to you once for my Amy? Look, now I am searching for your appearance to come and take her from me! Yes, I am the same one who wanted to keep her forever, until my last breath. The sense of death used to haunt me for her. Oh how I am punished now, seeking the angel of death myself for her!"
