Chapter 11

Autumn was making the coffee when Violet came in. She was wearing an old shirt that was faded. Autumn saw she was holding something. Autumn wonders what she had found. Violet sat down at the kitchen table as she was waiting for Autumn. Autumn tried to see what she was holding. Violet put it on the table and that is when Autumn knew. It was an old photograph of Rose and Violet. She was looking at it again. She was thinking about her friend again. "That is from that time you and her went to that place. I cannot remember what it was but it was the first time you and her went alone. It was a trip to get away for the weekend. I remember it because I did not know much about Rose at that time." Autumn said"Yeah. It is sad because this was the only one that we were away for the whole weekend. She dies before we go to the mountains like we want to. I just want her to be here again. I know she cannot be but there was so much we want to do. Rose was almost like another sister to me. William being her brother is strange. I mean how is it that I found out after she is gone." Violet saidViolet was holding back the tears because she knew that Autumn did not see her losing it. They ate breakfast and they had their coffee. Violet took the picture and went to her art room. She was working on art. Autumn cleans up and then sat on the couch. She kept looking at her phone. She knew that William was at work. Autumn kept thinking about what Violet said. "Hey William, I know you are at work. Violet had found an old photograph of her and Rose. It was from the time when Rose and her went on that weekend trip. She is in the art room right now. She is upset right now. I do not know what to say. She did say something that I was wondering." Autumn sent to himAutumn did not think he would reply fast. She decided to go to her room to change. She was going out because she felt like Violet need to be alone. She had lost that job due to stupid reasons. Violet was not happy but Autumn knew she needs her space. "Violet, If you can hear me I am going out for a little while. I will be back sometime later. If you need something just call or text." Autumn said"Okay." Violet saidViolet was sitting on the floor as she did not feel do her artwork. Violet was hurting and did not know what to feel. Violet was crying in her room. Violet wants one more night with Rose. Autumn was walking around the city when her phone goes off. She looked down to see that William had replied. She was thinking what it could be. She knew that William could be mad that she texted during his work time. Autumn looked at her phone and got a confused look on her face. "We need to talk. I mean you and me without Violet." William wrote back"What you mean? I thought you want to be with Violet." Autumn reply"This is not about our relationship. I want to talk to you about business things." William said"Okay. We could meet at your office if you need to." Autumn said"Yeah. I will be here for a little while." William said"Okay. I am going to let her know so she does not get scared. I will be there soon." Autumn said"Okay, I will see you then." William saidAutumn did not know what to feel but it must be serious. She sent a text to Violet. "William needs me to meet for business. I don't know what is going on. I will let you when I leave his office. I hope it is nothing serious." Autumn said"Okay. Be careful. William has not answered my text all day." Violet saidThis made Autumn wonder why he is not answering her. As she pulled into the parking lot. She looked around to see that there was a lot of cars in the parking lot. She parked and went inside. She went straight to William's office. All of his co-workers did not know much about her. Gary knew it was Autumn and let her into William's office. "He is in a small meeting. He will be back a couple of moments. Don't touch anything because he will freak out." Gary saidAutumn sat at the chair on the desk. She waited for him as she is looking around his office. She saw that something was not right. William walked in and closed the door. "Hey Autumn. Sorry about the short notice but we need to talk. It is business but also something is bothering me." William said"What is bothering you?" Autumn said"If this works, then why do I feel like something is off?" William said"Yeah, maybe the plan is not perfect. That is why I brought it to you to see if you could make it work. My business plan was to work something that could work for everyone." Autumn said"Yeah, your business plan is good. I was talking about something else." William saidAutumn leaned back in her chair. She crosses her legs and looks at him. "You are talking about the way you feel about my sister. What is going on with you? She is in love with you. She found an old photograph today. She has been in her room for most of the day. What is going on?" Autumn said"I feel like I am going to lose her. Rose was her friend. I only knew about Violet from what I have heard from my sister. I meet Violet at that time and I feel like everything is going to be good. Now I am sitting here talking to you because I am afraid she is going to leave. Rose used to tell me that Violet had relationship problems. She supposed to be with one guy but, she left him." William saidAutumn knew who he was talking about. It was one of the first guys that she dated. There was talk about them getting engaged at one time. Autumn was wondering what was going on. William was acting like something was wrong. "I just hope that Violet will not want to rush this. I still need to finish telling you and her about Rose. We never did finish what we were talking about." William saidAutumn looked at him like he had lost his mind. William did not know what to think because of what happened to her. Violet had no idea what was going on. Autumn and William finish their meeting. Autumn walked out of his office. Gary looks at the door and realized something had happened. "Hey Sis, when I get home... we need to talk." Autumn sent Violet"Okay. Is there something wrong" Violet wrote"I do not know if something is wrong. I just feel like something is off." Autumn saidAutumn get home and closed the door. Violet was laying on the couch. She sat up and scared Autumn. She laughs and gets up. "I had to do it." Violet said"I know. You just caught me off guard." Autumn said"It is just weird. What did you need to talk about?" Violet asked her"William is acting strange. He said there is more to talk about Rose. I thought we were done with it. I think there is something he did not tell us. I wonder if there is more to what happened than what he told us." Autumn told her "You meaning like there is more than what he had told us. I mean what could he not have told us. I know there could trust issues but why." Violet said"I know. I am wondering if it is trust issues or if it is something to hurt him." Autumn said"Yeah. I am thinking maybe he would want to talk about it. Is he going to come over tonight?" Violet said"I honestly think he is not. I left his office quickly after we handle the business. I am not sure what to think right now." Autumn said"Yeah What is it that he kept from us?" Violet saidViolet got up and left. Autumn went to her room. She decides to not let William in that night. They were going to let him stay out for couple of days. Autumn did not know what to think about William was acting. Violet was crying in her room, but she did not want Autumn to know. A couple of hours went by, Autumn thought Violet was sleeping. Autumn kept pacing the floor. She did not know what to think. "If you keep doing that you will walk a hole in the floor," Violet said"I thought you were resting. What are you doing up right now?" Autumn said after she jumps"I am wondering what is going on with William. I mean what is he thinking." Violet saidThere was a knock on the door and Violet went to look. "William is out there. He just left something at the door." Violet said"Okay. Then grabbed it. " Autumn saidIt was a note from him. "Dear Victoria and Autumn, I am sorry that I have been acting differently. Rose was actually sick with Cancer but she also almost killed herself before. I did not know about it until a few years later. It came out when she was fighting with me. I was trying to find a way to tell you about this. Rose was not supposed to go like this. Victoria knew her more than I did. I am her brother and did not even know a lot about her. I am sorry. If you want to cut communication with me, I will understand. I just wish I could show you how I feel. Autumn, if you want to cut communication and end our business agreement. I would understand what is going on. I will end it here.- William" They look at each other. They knew this would be bad to end it like this. They decide to handle it the next day. It was late so they decide to call it for the night. As Violet went to her room, he looked over at Autumn. She decides to leave her door crack just in case. There was no proof that this was an end for her. William had both of them thinking about what is going on. They looked at it differently. Violet was not sleeping when Autumn came to her door. Violet saw the shadow coming. "I figure you would come in here sometime during the night. I am one that wants William but you are one hurting." Violet said"I am hurting because I did not want you to hurt again. I think the thing we need to talk to William. Maybe we can talk about it with him tomorrow. I mean it is almost the weekend so maybe we can spend the day talking to him. What do you think about that?" Autumn said"Yeah. I think we need to long talk with him to see what he knows. This is sitting on make it or break it moment. If I feel like this is not going to work anymore. I need you to support me in that decision." Violet saidThey agree and Autumn went to her room. The light from the moon was the only light in the house. They went through the night without any more issues. Violet was up first so she tried to be quiet. Autumn was sleeping when Violet was making coffee.
