The following morning you woke up and quickly got ready for your trip back to Liyue.
After getting dressed and packing all your things, you went to Master Jean's office to thank her for having you here.
You knocked at her office door.
"Come in!" You heard a muffled yell from the inside.
When you came in she looked a little tired. It was still sunrise, so it was pretty early.
"Good morning Miss Jean!" You said to her.
"Good morning, Y/n! Are you leaving already?" She asked.
"Yes, I wanted to come in and thank you for having me here." You said with a smile.
"Until next time then, Y/n." She smiled back at you.
You left the headquarters and begun your journey to Liyue.
Approximately 1 hour later:
You were not far from the Wangshu Inn. You could practically see it from your location. You decided to rest on a boulder near the road. You started daydreaming about your nightmare last night.
There were too many questions to answer them all.
While daydreaming you suddenly started hearing weird voices. They didn't sound like humans. You swiftly turned around and saw a group of hilichurls heading for you. You tried to grab your f/w but as you were grabbing it, it slipped out of your hand.
"Great, just my luck today." You thought.
Before one of the hilichurls could land an attack on you, someone in a mask and with a spear appeared and got rid of them them in no time at all.
"Wait who is that?"
The stranger took off his mask. It was the boy you met when you first woke up.
"What was his name again? I can't recall."
As you were thinking he spoke in a harsh tone:
"You should keep your guard up around places like this. Don't start thinking you're immortal."
"Uhh, thank you." You said slowly with an awkward smile.
"I should get going now." You said quickly before picking up your things.
"Where exactly are you going to go? I might as well make sure you get there safely for the sake of it." He said in a semi-annoyed tone.
You sighted a little bit frustrated:
"Wangshu Inn."
"Let's get going then. No point in wasting time by sitting here." He continued in his harsh tone.
You picked up your things quickly. His aura seemed threatening to you.
After what felt like a while of walking
You finally arrived at Wanshu Inn. While you were walking with the boy, he seemed to be annoyed by having to walk you somewhere. Well, he did say that he'd do it out of his own will.
"We're here. If you don't need anything else I'm going now." He said in his annoyed tone.
"Wait!" You spoke before you could even think.
"What?" He seemed pretty frustrated at you.
"What's your name?" You asked.
"I am Adeptus Xiao. Some call me Vigilant Yaksha."
"Oh, nice to meet you!" You smiled at him while feeling awkward.
"I'm going now. Goodbye." He said annoyed.
You didn't understand why he was so mad all the time. Maybe it was just his tone? You didn't really know why you asked his name in the first place. It felt like it would reveal the burden on your chest for some reason. He really reminded you of the man in your dream.
While you were thinking clouds had gathered and it started to drizzle. You quickly got inside the Inn. You greeted the owner and went to your room.
It was already evening by the time you got there. You decided to unpack your things and lay down.
The gears in your mind couldn't stop spinning. Xiao reminded of the man in your dreams. You didn't think there was any good reasoning behind why he reminded you of that guy.
Suddenly it ran into your head he said people call him 'Vigilant Yaksha'. You though about it for a split second.
That's it!
You came up with the idea of going to the book shops in Liyue. They must have some books about Yakshas and Adepti.
The su was already setting while you were thinking about your plant tomorrow.
You decided to read a book until you fell asleep.
You almost finished half of the book while trying to sleep but you had no luck. You couldn't even close your eyes without them opening automatically leaving you to stare at the ceiling. You decided that maybe some fresh air would help you fall asleep.
You went out of your room quietly as to not disturb anyone who might be resting already. And sneakily made your way to the balcony of the Inn.
When you were almost at the balcony you saw Xiao. It was the 2nd time you've seen him today. What a coincidence. You still made your way up to the balcony.
He didn't show any signs of hearing you or seeing you. You went to the corner of the balcony because you didn't want to disturb him.
"I know you're there."
You flinched slightly upon hearing that.
"Sorry if i disturbed you or something.." You apologised to him while still standing at the corner of the balcony.
He scuffed in what seemed like annoyance. You couldn't even tell if it was his usual tone or if he was really annoyed of you.
"I figure it's only fair if I know what your name is, since you know mine." He asked.
"That's fair I guess. I'm Y/n." You said in response. You didn't have the courage to say or ask anything else.
You both stayed quiet for what felt like a small eternity until he asked:
"How did you even end up in those ruins?" He asked.
"I don't know. I just remember waking up there with my stuff and my f/w." You answered.
You were telling the truth. You had no idea how you ended up there and why you would be asleep or passed out there.
"What do you mean you remember just waking up there? Don't you remember anything before that? Like, at all?" His tone seemed to be indicating that he was confused and frustrated with my answer.
We discussed the subject but it was mostly the same question asked differently every time. It was like trowing a ball against a wall. The conversation was going back and forth with the same answer for most of the questions.:
"I don't know." or "I don't remember."
He gave up on trying to get any more information from me.
He decided that it was time for him to go, so we said our goodbyes.
He went to do his things and i went back to my room.
I was outside for a while so I could finally fall asleep without overthinking about everything.

Another chapter done. Author-chan is going to try and get as many chapters out before their final tests start. As usual they are writing this when it's midnight.
This felt like a long chapter so Author is going to go do something else now to rest.
As usual don't forget to drink water, eat enough meals every day and sleep at least 8 hours if you can!
