In the plane on the way to the hospital, the medics took turns to keep a close eye on Alex's condition. He is in an unstable condition and his condition can change in a matter of seconds. From bad to worse. Really, really quickly. "Cub... Can you hear me?" Snake asked quietly when it was his turn. Alex's breathing was shallow and ragged. The kid is having a fever that refuses to go down and is climbing higher and higher. Alex stirred and his eyes fluttered open slightly. "Hang in there okay?"
"Snake..." Alex whispered, his voice was hoarse and soft. "Oh shit..." Snake said. "What's wrong Snake?" Wolf asked. "I think there's something wrong with his vocal cords."
"You mean like paralysis or just bruising?" Lemur, another medic, asked. "I'm not sure... It might be one of those two." Snake answered, his frown deepened. "That's bad..." A soldier said just to fill the silence, excluding the sound of the engine. "Something positive would be nice." Eagle said. "Then YOU think of something." The soldier shot back. Eagle remained quiet. There was nothing to say. Nobody knew what to say. Not when Alex is in this condition and when they are all worried about him.
