November went by quicker than Hank had expected. Between his work and planning his and your wedding, the time just flew by. The two of you didn't seem to get the date planned no matter how you tried to make it work. Either Hank had work or you had yours and then came the talk about vacation days and how you could have them.

Then was the venue. Neither of you had that much money so you couldn't do like some people did, like, rent a museum or botanic garden for yourself and your guests. And the guest list was one headache on its own. Hank had no family to invite over, but he felt comfortable inviting some of his colleagues and Connor as his guests.

You on the other hand had fewer friends and colleagues, but you had more family to invite over. The thing just was that you hadn't yet told them. Hank was frustrated and he could tell that so were you. The two of your thought things over so carefully but something always messed your plans and that really put a strain on you two. Especially after the last time the two of you met...

Hank groaned as he took a long gulp of his coffee and stuffed scrambled eggs into his mouth. Connor watched his friend eat from another side of the little canteen's booth. The android frowned lightly and cleared his throat to gain Lieutenant's attention.

"What?" Hank asked and Connor straightened, "I'm sorry if this sounds personal Lieutenant, but are things alright with you and your mate?"

"Just peachy. Why?" The man snapped but Connor wasn't affected by his friend's snappy attitude.

"You came home yesterday in a bad mood. You were agitated and showed signs of fatigue." The android nodded, "Did something happen between you two?"

"The fuck it belongs to you?!" Hank shouted as loudly as he dared in the canteen. If he disturbed other officers or detectives then Bella would throw him out without pity. Connor just looked at the man. "You're right, it's not my business to intrude, but as your friend, I'm ready to listen and offer help."

Hank grounded his teeth together before he took a couple of deep breaths and calmed down.

"...We had our first fight." He admitted and Connor nodded. "Arguments are normal in relationships and not always avoidable."

"Yeah... Though I feel like I'm the bad guy for snapping at her and leaving."

"You didn't make up?"

"Fuck Connor, not every fight can be solved in one night!" Hank groaned and put his fork down, his appetite gone. He frowned, "She just... Shut down...  And I left."

"I may not be a professional in relationships, but I get this feeling she would also like to patch things up with you," Connor said and the old alpha nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Once again."

"I learned from the best." The android smiled and managed to draw out the first chuckle of the day from his human friend. Hank raised his hand and motioned Bella to bring him the check, but Connor shook his head. "It's already paid."

Hank smiled and got up to leave with Connor close behind him, but just as they managed to step outside of the canteen the man's phone started ringing. The alpha groaned and dug his phone from his pocket and looked at the phone's screen to see who it was. The number was unknown but it could have been something important so he picked it up and raised the device to his ear.

"Anderson."

"Hello, is this Hank Anderson?" Came a young man's voice and Hank grumbled. Dammit, was it a telemarketer?

"Yeah, but before you start selling anything, I'm not buying anything." He should have closed the phone with that, but the young man on the other side of the line quickly added, "No sir, I'm from the general hospital. We admitted a young woman late last night and you were first in her emergency contacts..."
