Park Jimin stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at the partying crowd below.
"You did an excellent job, Park Jimin." he smiled to himself, remembering all of the work he put in to set up this party.
Jimin hired the best DJ in town; he had the chefs prepare small snacks for the party-goers. And finally, he made sure that there were enough nonalcoholic drinks for everyone to have.
Best of all, the party-goers were having a blast.
Jimin felt someone behind him touch his shoulder. He turned around and saw his tall and older cousin, Kim Namjoon.
"I gotta say, Jimin, you outdone yourself this time," Namjoon said, shouting over the music. "Thanks, cousin." Jimin laughed. He turned back around and continue to watch the partying crowd dance, eat, and drink.
Jimin didn't tell Namjoon why, but there was a reason why he wanted to host the party in the first place. Half of that reason was that his dad was out of town on a business trip, but Namjoon already knew that. But the other and most important half was to see if a certain someone showed up.
Jimin went back to the day where he was on his way to the convenience store.
He was looking up at the starry night sky, not watching where he was walking. Suddenly, he bumped into someone.
It was a girl with long and silky black hair that glowed in the moonlight. She had a small diamond-shaped face, with brown eyes, a small nose, a heart-shaped lips. She looked about his age but was a little shorter.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," she said, bowing and walking away quickly. Jimin was distracted by her beauty that he didn't even notice that she was walking away.
"Hold it," he said. The girl turned around, and he looked at her, never breaking his gaze. "Do you need something?" the girl said, crossing her arms.
"Well, for starters, I need you to fix that tone of yours," Jimin replied, smirking.
"But you're not an adult though."
"I'm 18."
"I don't care. Look, I need to get home before it gets dark." the girl said, walking away. Jimin stared at her, then he smiled. "Oh darling, you have no idea what you just got yourself into."
He continued his route to South Market Convenience Store and walked inside. "Hello, Mister Manager!" the chirpy cashier said.
"Hello, Jisoo," Jimin said.
Jimin was about to walk downstairs when he saw two girls come in. One of the girls went to a group of guys, but the other stayed behind.
That girl caught Jimin's attention.
Immediately after they walked in, Sojung ran to a group of boys, leaving Haeyoon behind at the door. Everywhere she looked, there was a crowd of partying teenagers. Loud music, people dancing, people talking, and so much more. Haeyoon's stomach started to get nauseous.
She wasn't a party person; she never was. Haeyoon would rather sit alone in her apartment than be at a party with a whole bunch of people.
"Ugh, I need some air," Haeyoon said. She squeezed her way through the crowd and walked to the back of the house, looking for a quiet place to sit. She found a dining room and sat at one of the chairs.
"I should've stayed home." Haeyoon groaned, leaning on the back of the chair. "I never wanted to go to this stupid party anyway."
"You think my party is stupid?" Haeyoon turned around and saw a boy standing at the large doorway. "Wait, I didn't mean that! I'm just not a party person, that's all!"
The boy laughed, sitting next to Haeyoon. "You don't need to explain yourself; everything's fine." Haeyoon smiled a little, looking down at her hands. They were both quiet; only the sound of booming music was there. Finally, the boy broke the silence.
"I'm Park Jimin, the host of this stupid party." Jimin extended his hand out to hers. "What's yours?" Haeyoon looked at the boy. "Um, I'm Lee Haeyoon."
"Nice to meet you, Lee Haeyoon." Jimin rolled her name off of his tongue, giving Haeyoon shivers down her spine. The boy looked her in the eyes, then smirked. "Do you need a jacket or something? I'll be happy to let you wear mines."
Oh wait, I see what he's doing. Haeyoon thought. Then she smiled. "No, I'm fine. Thanks for the offer though." Then she stood up. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go try and locate my friend in the crowd. And don't you have a party to host?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot." Jimin laughed and stood up. "I just got distracted by talking to you." Haeyoon rolled her eyes and made her way back to the party.
Once she was gone out of his sight, Jimin groaned. "She's seriously different from the other girls; she didn't even ask for my number." He stretched out his hands. "I guess I'll have to try again soon."
It was around 11:00 pm, and the party was about to over in another hour. After four hours, Haeyoon finally located Sojung, who was in the middle of the dance floor, and they walked outside.
"Haeyoon, why did you take me out?" Sojung whimpered. Haeyoon noticed a small hint of alcohol in her breath. "We need to get home now; it's late." Then she grabbed her friend's arm and started walking.
"But Haeyoon, I was having fun!"
"You were getting drunk."
"I made some new friends too! I also gave them my number!"
Sojung was started to doze off, and Haeyoon placed her arm around her shoulder. A few minutes later, they made it into Sojung's neighborhood. Haeyoon rang the doorbell and saw that it was Sojung's older brother, Kwon Chanki, who opened the door.
"Where were you two?" he asked. Haeyoon sighed and pushed Sojung into Chanki. "At a party. Sojung will explain more about it tomorrow; just put her to bed."
Chanki slowly nodded. "Okay." Then he closed the door and Haeyoon made her way to the bus stop. 15 minutes later, she made it back to her apartment and collapsed on her bed.
"I'll take all of this off tomorrow," she mumbled. Then she fell into a deep sleep.
