One small group of fortunate humans made it into interstellar space before the sun had barbecued their planet into oblivion Well, two ACTUALLY, but, the group i was in made it to a place we called Sanctus. It was absurd in the first place that we'd reached it but, it was a relatively hospitable environment so, we landed.
The first inhabitants we encountered were huge flies, some as big as a human head, they weren't mean or attacking us so we just let them be, and went about our affairs.
Now, after awhile of being there, we started noticing these strange markings begin to appear on some of our buildings and, even on the starship wed come there in, the markings looked markedly similar to chinese characters but, definitely different.we learned that aside from thebuzzing and chirping sounds made by the huge flies, to communicate among themselves, these markings, were intended for us, humans, to figure out.
