Chapter 4

I sped down the highway, dried tears on my cheeks. I still had another 4 hours to drive, it was about 7 hours to get to LA. It was only 7 but i was emotionally exhausted and needed to stop and eat at least. So i pulled off the road and into the parking lot of a small diner.

The sun was starting to set when I stepped out of my car and I sat on the hood to watch it. I pulled out my cell phone and speed dialled Nat's number. It rang several times before she picked up “hello?” she mumbled, sounding distracted.

“hey Nat” I said with a smile, hoping she would make me feel better but it was wiped off my face as soon as she started screaming.

“OMG! Where are you?! Nathan called me and told me you ran off!! I swear to god if you're at Andy's i will kill you! He's gay, that doesn’t mean he's a girl! You need a girl talk! Not penises!!!” She stopped to take a breath and i burst into laughter.

“This is not funny missy! Where are you?”

wiped my eyes, “I'm going to LA” I said with determination, “to see my parents.”

She gasped, “you didn't tell Nathan?”

I winced and sighed sadly, “can we not talk about him?” I asked.

She made a some sort of noise and I heard a male “oomph”. I grinned and gave a knowing cough, “am i interrupting anything there Natasha?” I asked with a smirk.

“uhm, no.. One sec V” She replied quickly and i heard the phone drop along with a muffled thump and a “you idiot!”

I laughed and leaned my back against my car, looking at the blooming colours in the sky. She came back on the phone, “actually, Conner's here.” she admitted, sounding like a kid who got caught stealing cookies.

I laughed again, “It's okay Nat, call me later okay?”

“Okay!” She chirped, obviously glad to be back to whatever she was doing with Conner. I shook my head with a smile.

Conner and her were sort of like friends with benefits. Whenever they were both single they would fool around. I mean Natasha's not a slut. They didn’t do anything serious. I thought it was hilarious, and I'm almost positive they're going to end up together.

“kay bye” I finally replied and shut my phone. I put it in my pocket and let my eyes droop close. The sky was quickly darkening but I had all the time in the world my need for food forgotten . I felt a smile slip onto my lips. I heard the unmistakable sound of gravel under feet and opened my eyes turning to my left.
