Chapter 9: Suspicious Conversation

I'm so sorry for not updating. I took a "small" break to brainstorm though so i promise I'll be better! Anyways, thank you for reading!

Serena knew she wasn't going to get top 3 yet she still had a small bit of hope but she immediately lost it as soon as she read her rank.

Without hesitation Serena walked over to the trash can and threw the papers in to the trash can. She then walked away and threw herself down on her couch.

I wanted to comfort her but at the same time I thought maybe she would want to be alone. I wasn't going to be able to see her for a while though since she's probably going to start training again and I still need to continue research alongside Gou.

I started to overthink about how I would regret any bad decision I could make at that moment. I stood still for a couple of minutes until I finally made up my mind and decided to tell her I wanted to spend a couple days with her before I had to leave.

"Serena... Can I Stay a little longer? If that's okay with you that is..." I say.

I expected A quick response but I Didn't hear one. I found it odd so I walked over to see if she was okay and I found Her asleep. It was still pretty early in the afternoon so I planned on letting her sleep and making her Dinner to wake up to so she could be in a better mood once she woke up. The bad thing was I never learned how to cook. My companions and Friends would either cook for us or buy food for us so it was going to be a bit difficult.

First though, I had to go get Ingredients so I had to go to the store first. I Wanted to Shower but I Had to wear the same clothes I've had for the past 3 days since I forgot to bring Extra Clothes. On my way to the bathroom I heard the Wall Phone Ringing from the kitchen. I walked over to see who it was but I Didn't recognize the number so I unplugged the Phone just in case they decided to call back. I then quietly walked over to the bathroom.

After my Shower, I dress up back in my clothes and I put Greninja back in his Pokeball as Pikachu hopps on my shoulder. I Then text Gou to tell him about my Plan.

[Hey Gou. I'll Be spending a couple days with Serena before we have to go back to Kanto. I'll Let the Professor know We'll only be here for a couple more days.] I text him.

[Don't Worry about that! I already let him know that we'll most likely be here for a couple more days.] He replies.

[Thank you! By the way, do you know how to cook? I wanna cook Serena a good meal but I've never cooked. can you help?] I ask.

[I'll Love to! I've never cooked a full meal but Chloe has taught me a bit! Text me when you want me to go over!] He says.

[Great! Can you also bring me my bag of clothes? Thank you.] I Say.

I then turn off my phone and walk out the front door.

At The Grocery Store

As I enter the store,I wander the aisles looking for things that could make a good meal. I decide to make Small beef bowls. I search for all the needed ingredients besides the meat. I Then immediately walk over to the meat aisle since I obviously need meat for the beef bowls. Hopefully it'll turn out good. As I pick up some meat, I over hear a familiar sounding voice. I search the aisles looking for the source of the voice.

I finally find the source of the voice. It was a familiar looking girl. It's almost as in instant I recognized Her. Her orange hair really gave away who she was. I walked over to say Hello since she didn't notice me yet. As I'm Walking over I hear her muttering into a phone. I can Barely make out some of the words but i was able to hear some.

"________Mine_______ Thanks_______ You. _______ Definitely ______ For Me________________ Once__________ stops_________"

I Don't know the context of her conversation so it sounded really suspi I ignore it and walk over to say Hello to her.

"I Have to go. Bye" Misty says as she hangs up her call without Hesitation.

" Ash! didn't see you there!" Misty said.

"Misty! It's been a while! I didn't think you would be here. " I say.

"I came to hoenn to sightsee a bit!"Misty says.

" Oh that's great! I was just shopping when I heard a voice that sounded familiar. Turns out it was you!" I tell her.

"Wow! Hey It's been a while since I've seen you. Last time was in Alola. Would you like to go eat with me? Y'know... To catch up?" She asks.

" I would love to but I'm about to buy these Ingredients and I don't want them to go to waste."

" Ingredients? What are they for?" She asls with interest.

" Yeah I was getting Ingredients so I could make a meal for my-"

" My Girlfriend" I say as my face starts to turn red.

"G- Girlfriend?" She says with a nervous laugh.

"Yeah... She was feeling a bit down so I wanted to make her something To Cheer her up." I say

"I Didn't think you would be able to date someone!' She says with yet another nervous laugh.

We then have a small conversation about how beautiful Hoenn is. Although we were friends, there was an awkward feeling whenever we talked. It started to bother me.

"I have to go But here take my number! I'll text ya if i ever have time!"I say as I tell her my Number so she can save it in her phone.

"Hopefully we'll be able to see each other these next couple of days before you go back to kanto!

"Of Course!" I say happily.

I then wave goodbye and go over to the register to pay for my stuff. As I walk out the store I can't help to think about how weird that interaction was.

"How Did she know I was leaving soon?" I think to myself.

Thank You For Reading! It's almost been a month since i've last updated sorry. I took the time to brainstorm some ideas for this story and I also have big ideas for my other story which won't be connected to this story. It has a basic formula but I do have good ideas to make it original. Also, thank you for 1k! I'm surprised this story I thought of on a whim turned out this popular lol. But It makes me want to make this story better for you all. Quick question though, Would you prefer that for my next story, The chapters have names for them like (Chapter 1: ) Or Would you just prefer a basic (Chapter 1)? Please let me know! Any constructive criticism would be appreciated too!
