Chapter 5

Perrie was doing her homework when she heard her phone ringing. She searched for it in the pile of books and finally found it. She was confused as to why Zayn was calling her now. Didn't they agree that they'll announce their breakup tomorrow to everyone? She thought.

When she answered the phone, she could feel the panic in Zayn's voice.

"Perrie... " He said nervously.

"Zayn? What happened? Are you ok? You sound nervous, is everything alright? " She asked, worry lacing her voice.

"Nothing is alright!! He'll take my Liam away from me! He'll take my life away!! " He said, his heart beat rising with every passing second.

"Who will take Liam away?" She asked, getting up from her bed, worriedly.

"Jack" He said clenching his fists tightly.  "He'll take my Liam away".

" Jack? Jack Stone? Why would he do that, Zayn? " She asked.

"Can you please come over here, I can't explain this on the phone" He said defeatedly.

"Ok I'll be there in ten minutes, don't worry" She calmly said, hoping he would also calm a little.

Keeping her word, Perrie arrived at Zayn's house in about ten minutes and knocked on the door.

When the door opened, a very stressed Zayn was standing there.

"What happened, Zayn, you got me quite worried after your call" She asked him.

"We should go to my room and talk, I don't know when my parents would come home and I don't want them to know anything right now" He hurriedly said and made way to his room.

Perrie followed him, without saying another word.

He entered the room and sat on his bed, resting his head on his hands.

"I'm freaking out Zayn, tell me what happened to Liam? " She asked, irritated by his behaviour.

"This happened" He shoves his phone in her hand.

She caught his phone scanning the screen and reading the recent message.

"What the hell!! How does he know? What is he saying about holding hands and all?  Did you meet Liam today, after lunch? "

"After our talk, I couldn't focus on anything but Liam, so I spent all my time practicing on the field. And when the actual practice started I was flushed, coach told me to go home. Lou heard that and asked me to drop Liam home and gave me his car keys." He looked up at her.

"I knew he was in the library with that Jack, so I went there. When I entered, they were lost in each other, singing their song so I got jealous and may or may not have flirted a little with Liam and in a way held his hands, Liam was oblivious to my actions, but that stupid Jack understood. He indirectly asked Liam on a date, but he refused, well I refused first then he refused, to sum up, Jack knows about my crush and I'm fucked" He finished, breathing heavily.

Perrie's jaw dropped on hearing everything.

"You possessive little shit! All this time you wouldn't even talk to him and when you are jealous as fuck, you go on and flirt with him not to mention 'hold hands'? Have you ever given him a handshake as friends? Do you even know what Liam must be thinking now? No one is that oblivious, you idiot!! " She yelled at him.

"I'm sorry ok, I just couldn't control myself. I can't allow that asshole to be with him, you saw how he threatened me. He's not a nice person, Perrie, please help me in this" He begs her.
