My gaze jumped back and forth from Demetrius to Rhea. "C-Cybele? What? But I thought you said she was gone for good!"
"That's what I thought too," Demetrius said grimly, his hands clenched into fists. "And yet here she is."
Rhea giggled. "Don't act like a fool, Cronus. You know us Titans can't die easily. It's something that you yourself know very, very well."
Wait, what? So that means. . .
Oh no.
No.
That's not possible, right? After all this time?
Raymond nudged at Eloise standing beside him and whispered something to her. Eloise pursed her lips and carefully took a step back, adjusting her grip on Argentum. Alistair, who stood nearest to the burnt mansion, produced a small fire on his hand.
"How do you know each other?" Zeus asked, then looked at me. "And what did you mean, 'she was gone for good'?"
I was about to speak up when Demetrius took a step forward. "So, Rhea, which of them is him?"
Rhea motioned at Poseidon and Zeus with her weird stick. "Be my guest and take a guess."
Demetrius stared between them intently. The two boys exchanged a confused glance. In their minds, the three of them had jumbled thoughts of what was happening right now, but Demetrius's stood out the most.
Both of them looked almost the same. . . But the eyes. . . His gaze stuck on Poseidon. Ocean blue. Calm. Commanding. It's him. . .
I inhaled sharply. My hands trembled beside me as the truth of his thoughts sank in.
Rhea laughed as Demetrius's expression warped from bewilderment to familiarity.
"Do you see now, Cronus?" she sneered. "Do you see our son whom you abandoned for your lover and her daughter?"
Everything and everyone seemed to stop, even though Demetrius wasn't using his power. Raymond and Eloise didn't know what we were talking about but they somehow knew what they meant. Athena and Zeus stared at their mother with stunned faces. Demetrius glared at Rhea, who cackled as Poseidon and I stared at each other, our minds blank save for one thought in mind:
She's my half-sister.
He's my half-brother.
Rhea and Demetrius had a child. Uncle Ben lied, or maybe he didn't know.
I snapped out of my reverie and turned to Demetrius. "Why? W-Why didn't you tell me this before? Why didn't you even show me?"
He bowed his head down, ashamed. "I'm sorry. It's just. . . never thought I'd ever see him again."
"Why in the world would you think that!" Poseidon roared. "I thought I was dreaming when I thought you looked familiar. For years I've been waiting for you to come back but you never did! I looked up to you when I was a child but you let me down!"
