Jughead POV
Today Betty's family is having a cookout. I'm nervous because Polly's gonna be there and I know she's going to lecture me for hurting Betty.
She and Jason have been staying in a hotel while Nicky is staying at the Coopers. Betty says it's so they can get a break, but Polly says it's so she can get used to having a kid.
I walk up the stair and ring the doorbell.
"Hello, Jughead they're in the backyard" Alice smiles and lets me in.
"Thanks" I walk out to the backyard. I didn't even know they had a backyard. It's not very big. It has a pool in the corner and Hal is cooking on the grill.
"Juggie" Betty smiles and stands up. I walk over to her and hug her.
"Hey you look nice," I say and she smiles. She's wearing a long skirt and her bathing suit top.
"You do too"
"I guess flipping burgers paid off" I smirk and she rolls her eyes.
"If it isn't Jughead Jones," Polly says and walks up to me.
"Look Polly I'm sor—"
"It's fine Jughead. Teenagers are stupid. As long as you're making her happy I'm okay" she says and hugs me.
"You're definitely nicer than Charles" I sigh and she rubs my shoulder.
"He's just annoying" Polly smiles and walks towards Hal.
"Chuggie!! Look I swimming!" Nicky says from the pool. Jason is holding him above water.
"Good job bud!" I give him a thumbs up and he smiles.
"He loves you Jug," Betty says and lays her head on my shoulder. Then she looks up at me.
"What?"
"You've gotten taller. Last time my head could hit your cheek now it barely reaches your neck" She pouts.
"What the hell am I supposed to do? My dad's fucking six foot three." I say.
"Wanna get in the water?" She asks.
"Yeah sure," I smile and pull off my shirt.

Betty POV
Polly and I came inside after a while. Jughead, Nicky, and Jason are still outside.
"Oh my gosh this is so cute Betty look" Polly shows me floral lavender baby dress.
"Aww but Mom gave me a limit Pols" I say.
"I have money Betty I'll get it for my niece" she says. Then Nicky walks into the room frowning.
"Why's wrong bud" Polly asks.
He crosses his arms "Daddy's paying games with Charles and not letting me pay"
"Aww come here" Polly opens her arms and he hugs her.
"Was Jughead in there?" I ask.
"No I fink he's still outside"
"Oh gosh seriously?" I stand up and walk outside. And yep Jugs sleep on a lounge chair. Also he's red.
I pat his shoulder "Jugg—"
"Ow fuck!" He sits up quickly.
"Shit you got sunburned"
"Ow this fucking hurts Betty" he says and looks at me.
"Come here maybe my Mom can help" I grab his hand. I let go quickly.
"Sorry" I say.
"It's fine I don't really have it on my hands" he says and grabs my hand again.
"Mom Jug got sunburn" I say walking into the house. She looks like she's about to laugh.
"This isn't funny Mrs. Cooper" Jughead says and frowns.
"I'm sorry you just look like a tomato. Come on I this I have some aloe vera gel upstairs. Why didn't you put on sun screen?" She says and he follows her upstairs.
"I forgot" he says.

Putting Aloe on Jug was terrible for him. It's was funny to me. He said it hurt terribly. And when we were done Nicky ran up to hug and slapped his shoulder. Jason told him to do that.
"Come here" Jug says and opens his arms for me. I just got out of the shower.
"Isn't gonna sting?" I ask drying my hair with a towel.
"I'll be fine" I raise a brow.
"It's feels better now come here" he says and I put the towel down. I go to my and and gently lay down next to him.
"See I'm fine"
"Okay but you better not complain" I say and turn off the lamp.
