Ok so this chapter is pretty short but I thought it was better to do this than to make one giant chapter. So I'll post the next one once I've edited it. :)
Enjoy! :)
Disclaimer: I don't own any of Grey's Anatomy. Not the characters. Not the plot. Not anything. Nor do I own anything to do with the NHL. At all. But it would be pretty cool if I did.
"Do you have a day off on Monday?" Derek asked, leaning over the stove. Meredith was watching him from her stool, his muscles rippled through his T-shirt as he moved and Meredith couldn't help but be transfixed by the gorgeous, brilliant, talented (in more ways than one) man in front of her, in her house.
"Mer?"
"Huh?"
"Do you have a day off on Monday?"
"Oh, yeah. You have training though don't you?"
"I do, but, I was thinking, after I finish, we could go to the local ice rink, the one Aiden goes to, and I'll take you skating," he grinned.
Meredith giggled, "It's sweet Der, but I've never been skating in my life, I'm not sure any teacher could teach me."
"You've never been?! Then we are definitely going, and I am a very good teacher... of many things," he gave a wicked smile.
"Oh really?"
"Oh, you disagree? Maybe I'll have to teach you better," he murmured, stepping closer.
"Maybe you will. But if we go skating, you may end up being dragged to the floor."
"I'm okay with that," Derek chuckled, "it just means I'll have to hold you that much more, and I love holding you."
"I know you do," she giggled. Whenever Derek was around her, he was always as close as he could be, and he loved pulling her into his lap just to hold her, to smell her hair. Meredith secretly loved it, but she would never tell him that; she loved running her hands though his soft curls and feeling his stubble under her touch. She watched as he turned back to the eggs he was boiling, and she had to go and wake Aiden so that they could go to the game today. It was still 1-0 and she knew Derek was hoping to win today.
She opened Aiden's door quietly and tried to shake him awake.
"Aiden?"
He shuffled slightly and shifted onto his side.
"Go 'way, I don't wanna get up."
"Come on sweetie," she shook him again.
"But I'm tired," he protested weakly.
"It's time to get up. Derek is playing today."
His eyes flew open and he threw of his duvet. "Let's go Mom," he was already halfway out the door.
She saw him walk straight up to Derek, dragging a stool with him so that he could see. It still amazed her how comfortable Aiden was with her boyfriend sometimes. Derek kissed his head, whispering that something that made her son laugh. She decided to join them and wrapped her arms around Derek, (though not before kissing Aiden's forehead) resting her cheek on his shoulder.
"Welcome back Mer, we were just discussing how Dallas are gonna get their butts kicked today."
"The Flyers are definitely gonna win," Aiden nodded enthusiastically.
"Of course you guys are gonna win. Plus, I don't like Dallas' jerseys," she scrunched up her nose.
"That is true, ours are definitely better, aren't they bud?"
