Kurukshetram was red and warm. There were lifeless corpses lying upon that battlefield. Not only soldiers, but also animals were lying lifeless. Crows and foxes were lurking round those corpses to peck them. Women were weeping and lamenting. "Oh, my husband! My husband Duryodhan, how was your prowess! You were the king of Hastinapur! My beautiful Lord, why are you lying so lifeless?" one woman lamented. "My Karna! That Arjun put one end to your life deceitfully, he is not a hero like you my Lord", cried another woman who was weeping besides Karna's corpse. "Oh my dear Abhimanyu, we were only married for some time, how could you leave me? My dear Abhimanyu", cried one young lady. Whole Kurukshetram consisted of women who were lamenting upon their dead husbands. Bhishma and Dronacharya, those two great men had perished. Many warriors from both Pandava and Kaurava side had perished. Only Krishna, the Pandavas, Satyaki and Kritavarma with Yuyutsu and Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, had managed to live. Their kula guru Kripa acharya was also alive after this great war. All Kauravas along with their brother Duryodhan and Dusshasan had perished.
Arjun had won with Karna due to Lord Krishna's guidance, Vrikodara had managed to slay all hundred Kauravas to take revenge for his Draupadi's humiliation. The kingdom was now of the Pandavas. They had won, but not completely won. Their sons and close ones had also perished. Draupadi was weeping for Abhimanyu and her father. Her brothers and sons had perished due to Ashwatthama. Her close ones were away from her. She thought "For whom do I rule now in Hastinapur? My close ones have perished. My sons and my Abhimanyu are not alive now. My brothers have also perished. Who will celebrate my victory?" She saw Krishna besides her. He would help her when she was in distress.
"Govind! Was war necessary?" she said and started weeping infront of Lord Krishna. He sat besides her and said to her "Sakhi! War was necessary. Truthfulness had to win with evil kings and Dharma, the rule of Yudhisthir had to establish. Do not cry Oh sakhi! Did you not wish for war some time back dear Draupadi? You were reminded of humiliation. You had a wish to take revenge from Kauravas for your humiliation. You did not think that time that war not only gets lamentations in one side but also in the other side who is combating. Destiny wants only some to survive wars Draupadi. Do not keep lamenting for those who sacrificed themselves for establishment of Dharma. They would go to heaven, live happily and pleasantly there waiting for Pandavas and you. Their life purpose was finished. You have your life purpose my dear Draupadi! You have to rule your kingdom Hastinapur and your kingdom Indraprastha. Do not weep dear Sakhi! You must rule with Yudhisthir!"
She was waiting for many years and faced many hardships to see this day of victory of her husbands. This was her own victory! Krishna had completed his purpose in Bhulokam.
Draupadi was pacified. She came to realise that she had responsibility towards her citizens. She had forgiven her husbands. This was her new life. She had to live with moments of her past and with happiness of her present time. She would be her kingdom's best queen and rule with her king. She would not let any one stay unpleased. Adharma had not won this time with Dharma. That bold queen remembered her humiliation. Her revenge had been taken very perfectly.
