They said it was built upon a lie.
They told me my feelings would surely fade.
Passion would flare and foes would be made.

The autumn leaves blew through the air, while the wind tangled my hair, blocking me from seeing where I was walking. As my black converse scuffed along the jagged edges of the concrete sidewalk and my book bag weighing me down piled high with my studies.

When I opened the door I could smell the coffee as it's scent flew up my nose. I smiled as I walked towards the counter of the small café and saw there wasn't anyone else in the shop. After ordering a Spiced Apple Chai, I went and looked for a seat to sit down at while waiting to hear my order to be called. Walking towards the back of the shop, where it was more secluded, I sat down and opened my book bag. Pulling out my Pre Calculus homework and some headphones I got out my pencil when I noticed that my shoelace was untied. Not even five minutes later, there was a hot Spiced Apple Chai sitting in front of me.

In the top corner of the spiral I wrote my name Alyssa Collins with the date and what the assignment was that I happened to be working on. Plugging my earbuds into my phone, I opened the Spotify app and went to my playlist. Sticking the earbuds in my ear, Justin Bieber blasting out while I set to work.

About an hour later

Finishing up some Civics homework and my Chai, the door bell rings for the hundredth time since I've  arrived. Not looking up to be that annoying snoopy person like most people, I carried on with what I was doing. I only looked up when a mans voice brought me out of my concentrated state. He had strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes with very light freckles sprinkled a crossed his cheeks and nose. He had a lopsided grin on and seemed so darn carefree like there wasn't a thing in the world to hold him down. He looked like every other boy in town including the carefree trait. Just another player I thought. I hate them players. They remind me of my pot head of a father. All he did was knock my mother up and as soon as she told him she was pregnant with the twins, he jumped the gun and took off leaving my mother alone to fend for herself and a baby that was growing inside of her. Just the thought about him being my father, his flesh and blood just made me want to heave.

"Is this seat taken?" The blue eyed stranger asked.

Shaking my head and trying to get my head back into her homework, the man sat down, looking quite uncomfortable. He tried to start conversation many times only for me to just give a head shake or a brief yes or no. He was lucky to even get a "mmh" from me.

Deciding against the conversation and communicating we sat there silently until I finally finished my homework. Tossing my books and pencils into my book bag, I tossed my drink cup in the trash and went on my Mary way. Swinging my ponytail around and trying to balance my feet on the curb, I slowly made my way home.

After about a  fifteen walk to my house, I opened the red door and quickly and quietly closing it for it makes one heck of a noise. As soon as it was closed I called out to my mother and sisters.

"I'm home!!" I yelled from the top of my lungs while dropping my bag on the floor by the "Mail vanity". This is what we call it. In reality it's just a wood table with a mirror above it that has a long drawer in the front of it (a vanity) and a key rack that we sat upon it. On it we just toss out mail and calendar and anything else we all need to know about.

I heard feet stomping down the stairs loudly and then being attacked by two blonde headed girls that were giggling and yelling welcome home. Annabelle pulled back first flashing me a smile and in the process showing off her blue and silver braces. She was the sporty one. She played soccer and basketball claiming that it was exciting. She was gorgeous though. Her sister on the other hand, Allison, was all for music. She claimed that she was going to make it big one day and repay mom for all the hours and shifts she had to pick up just to afford to make a bill each month.

Us three girls were all different though. We may have the same mother and father but it doesn't change our wacky personalities. Allison, was he musical one. Annabelle was the sporty one who didn't give a hoot about what she was wearing. And then there was me. I don't know what I was. I know for a fact I am not musical nor sporty. I like to read and stay locked up in my room and do homework. I guess I'm defined as a nerd? I don't really know, all I know is that I'm not a full time nerd like most people probably expect me to be. I loved. To skateboard and go running. Slightly sporty I guess...

After we exchanged our day we all headed off to bed. I slipped into my pink piggy footy pajamas and slipped the duvet and sheets over my slim body while drifting off into a deep slumber.
