Kihyun could simply not believe his eyes after what he got told. The young man expected the project to be something light, very much so and would have never expected to be told such a thing. But here he was, and Hyunwoo was looking at him with sweet eyes. Understanding, even. He knew he could say no if he wanted to-It wasn't like he was being held at gunpoint for this. However, he truly didn't know what to answer-This was such a big thing!
"So you...You want me to...To draw for it?" His eyes were still big, and he wasn't even sure if he was dreaming or not. But, next to him, Hyunwoo just nodded his head softly. He was totally serious and honest about this question.
"I know the story is still kind of blurry-I'm not good at describing things. But I have the script, and I wanted to try because this has been sitting in my drafts for so long. I wanted to find someone to release it with."
"And you chose...Me? Of all people?" With his round eyes, Hyunwoo thought his friend was adorable. He did not say it out loud, though, and instead just showed a lovely smile.
"Of course, I chose you. Who else? You're an amazing artist, Ki', I saw it. I want you to draw it all if you want. I don't see anyone else working on this with me than you."
Kihyun could feel his heart beating very loudly in his chest, his face still showing his surprise. From what he understood, Hyunwoo wanted him to work on a manga project he had been editing for quite some time. The scenario was already written, apparently, and since he was sure he would soon finish the third book of Crystal Wind, he wanted to start his other project if he could. Son Hyunwoo, the famous writer that Kihyun would've known if he just looked better when he read, wanted him, broke graduated art student, to draw the manga he'd been writing about for very long. Since his degree, even, and Kihyun couldn't believe it. He never really saw Hyunwoo as the famous writer he was, more as just a normal human with talent. Now, though, the reality was slowly sinking in. He wouldn't change his attitude towards the male, not at all, but he really couldn't believe he was asked that. Would he even be able to?
Looking at Hyunwoo's eyes, never pressuring, and seeing all the trust the man had in him...Kihyun knew that he would be able to at least try. Yeah, he truly could. If the writer trusted him like this, he would do it. It was his dream, after all, and the plot sounded so badass. Something about a hitman named Usobuki who can kill anyone without ever resorting to violence. Just by manipulating minds.
"O-Okay. Yeah, I'll do it. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity, hyungnim."
At the nickname, Hyunwoo laughed a bit and only ruffled his dongsaeng's hair in the fondest way. "Don't be so formal all of a sudden, I won't eat you."
A pause. A smile crept on the taller man's lips, a fake-innocent one. Then, he continued his sentence:
"I mean unless you want me to…"
"Hyunwoo!" The latter laughed as his friend started tickling him to get his revenge. The night ended in a pillow fight, a kind of pathetic one, and Kihyun couldn't remember a time where he had had this much fun with someone. As they slept side by side, he could only think about how he finally had a goal, something to do in life. He was very glad for it, glad that he met Hyunwoo who could give him such a chance. He certainly would not miss it.
The next day, everything was back to normal in the morning. Kihyun had been the first one to get up and started cooking breakfast, though it wasn't long before he was joined by a presence in the kitchen. A presence that stole the food before it was ready and decided to hug him from behind while he was cooking. Only to steal another bacon and go away. Kihyun couldn't even wipe the smile off his face at the situation. After that, it wasn't long before they got camped in Hyunwoo's desk, breakfast plates on the table next to them and sheets surrounding them. Even drawing little things, discussing the ideas, and Kihyun found out that his friend could draw kind of well. He wasn't expecting that, considering how much he told him that he couldn't draw. "All men do is lie," Kihyun had told Hyunwoo, and the taller man rolled his eyes with a smile. It was so comfortable, fun, and the artist could hardly believe he had this much fun just working and drawing. It was freeing, something he hadn't felt in a long, long time. And, as he was working on the main character, Hyunwoo decided to tease him. He loved it too much, loved to annoy Kihyun as much as he could.
"Hyung?..." The artist froze, feeling lips on his neck. It was light, gone as soon as it came, and Kihyun's surprised look made Hyunwoo laugh. The man was truly adorable and easily shocked. Ah, teasing him was now the writer's favorite pastime.
"Don't mind me, just work~" Kihyun did, he really did. Well, he tried to, but it turned out to be real fucking impossible, considering how the man next to him didn't stop leaving kisses on his neck, then on all his face. Kihyun was pretty sure he looked like a tomato and tried to discard the fact his heart was beating harder than it normally did. He just simply could not help it, not with Hyunwoo this close. And somehow, as he was about to whine about wanting to work, the words died in his throat.
The taller male was right in front of him. Okay, this wasn't the problem per se; it was that his face was like two centimeters away from his and that he could feel his already burning skin burn even more. They were so close, staring at each other like they weren't really sure about what to actually do now. It was as if time had stopped, and Kihyun couldn't even control the way his eyes slowly closed by themselves. He just waited, holding the armchairs tightly, until he felt a pair of lips against his own.
The contact, though expected, was also very surprising and Kihyun felt himself melt on the spot. It took him one or two seconds before he kissed back, hands naturally going in the older's neck. He could feel the latter's hands on his hips, respectful as always, and he got lost in the magical kiss. With his plump lips, it should've been obvious that Hyunwoo was an incredible kisser, but again, Kihyun could be really dense when it came to things like that. He was glad he got to find out, though, because the feeling was magical and those lips were pillowy-like.
One kiss turned into many, many more. The two boys couldn't get off each other, making out softly. Kihyun could feel Hyunwoo nibbling his lower lip, and as he opened his mouth, he felt the other's tongue get in it. Everything was perfect until Hyunwoo's phone rang in his pocket.
"Sorry...Bad alarm." Said the older with a shameful smile, as red as Kihyun was now. At least, he wasn't alone. "Well, maybe we should get to work."
Kihyun couldn't say it was a bad idea, so he quickly nodded. The tension was soon dissipated, but he could feel Hyunwoo looking at his lips and blushing sometimes. Yeah, they really had to focus on work.
And later, when Hyunwoo's phone rang another time because of a call, the man answered. He came back with news; they'd have to go back to the city in two weeks since the writer had an event for one of his books. Therefore, they had two weeks to get the project started the best they could, in the hope they could present it to Hyunwoo's manager as a test when they would come back. Kihyun was okay with that and determined to make the best manga ever. Maybe he was overreacting a bit, but who cared; he was a man on a mission, now.
Two, even, if kissing Hyunwoo again counted as one.
