A New Heart

Travels

Law's POV:
Two days after Chi's sudden arrival there was finally a room for her.

I grabbed a uniform from on of the guys and a couple shirts of mine. I put them in Chi's arms. "Follow me."
She nodded.
Her room was down the hall from mine. I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable with all the men so we changed a couple rooms around.
I opened the door and walked in.
It was simple but she could buy what she needed at the next island to decorate it.
I turned to her. "This is your room now."
She pouted, tilting her head to the side. "You kicking me out Law? You don't like me anymore."
She was playing with me. It seemed that's all she ever did. She did not respect me as her captain and it was slowly driving me insane.
"Shut up Chi. You weren't going to stay in my room forever."
She giggled and dropped her clothes on bed. "But think of the snuggles we could have had."
I growled leaving.
"Couldn't I have roomed with Bepo?!" She called after me.
I shut her door ignoring her.
She is going to be difficult.

Chi's POV:
Law got so unnerved by my teasing I just couldn't help it.
I took a shower and then changed into the jumpsuit he gave me. It was completely unflattering.
So with some alterations I had a hot new uniform. I'd cut out the middle separating the one piece jumpsuit. I rolled up the sleeves as well as one pant leg. I made a make shift belt out of some yellow fabric.
Much better.

I walked out and made my way to the only thing I knew how to get to.
In the room was Bepo steering, Shachi, and Penguin.
Shachi and Penguin came right over smiling at me sweetly. "Hi Miss Chi" Penguin said.
"Do you need anything?" Shachi asked.
I shook my head. "No. What do you do to entertain yourselves?"
Shachi smiled. "Penguin and I play 21."
I nodded.
"If you don't mind me asking" Penguin began, "What did you do while on your travels?"
I thought back. "Hmmm while I mainly played with my friend Mai. Well also Keen." I smiled big at them. "We three did everything together. One of our favorite games was Russian Roulette."
Shachi and Penguin flinched.
"Were you good at it?" Bepo asked. It was clear he didn't know what it was.
I chuckled. "I haven't lost yet" I said darkly.
"But I'd like to play 21 with you."
Penguin and Shachi weren't bad.

Law's POV:
I went and found Chi playing cards with Penguin and Shachi. "Chi, I need to remove your stitches."
"Finally. These fuckers are itching like a bitch."
"Miss Chi swears a lot" Bepo said.
Chi followed me to my operating room.
"Lay down" I said.
She did and took off her shirt.
"Eh... I didn't say take off your shirt."
She shrugged laying on her side looking at me evenly. "Might as well. It'll make this easier."

I took the stitches out of her shoulder first. Upon the stitches being pulled out the skin around them instantly healed. I raised a brow but didn't say anything.
Going to her arm it healed just as her shoulder had.
I went to her stomach and it wasn't as healed as the others.
"This one isn't healed properly yet. You'll have to keep the stitches in longer."
"Tch" she said.
She pulls her shirt back on. "Go on and ask me. I know you want to." Her voice wasn't as happy go lucky anymore.

"Why does you body heal so fast?"
She shrugged. "Not sure. It just always has."
"Ever since you ate your devil fruit?"
She nodded. "So am I free to go?"
I nodded. "Bepo said we should be arriving at the next island in two weeks. There you can buy any clothes you need."
She nodded and walked out.

Chi's POV:
Being back on a pirate ship felt a little bitter sweet.
I was happy and excited for the adventure. But down time like this made me think back to the old days. I missed my old friends. The people I'd grown up with.
Keen had been killed. The small service we held for him was very sad.
I honestly didn't know if Mai was alive or not. When we disbanded I sort of locked myself away. I hadn't really checked on any of my crew.

For the rest of the night I stayed in my room.

Later there was a knock at my door. I opened it to see Bepo. He smiled at me. "You weren't at dinner so I brought you some food incase you were hungry."
"Thank you Fuzzels." I hugged him. His face turned a light pink. I took the sandwich in his hand.

Law's POV:
Chi seemed a bit down the last couple days. I had to guess it reminded her of back with the Spades.

As the week went on Chi was either with myself or Bepo.
I hated to admit it, even just to myself, but it was cute the way Chi was so enthralled with Bepo. I was happy to see someone love him so eagerly.

Bepo said another day till we reached the island. I believe it's called Nunna Island.

It was mid afternoon.
I was looking for Bepo to confirm something with him.
I found him asleep on the floor next to the couch in my study. Chi was on top of him asleep as well.
The scene might have been heart warming if it weren't for Penguin and Shachi.
"What are you two doing?" I asked.
"Wondering if Chi would kill us if we"
"Captain?!" Penguin said interrupting Shachi. I put a finger to my mouth telling him to be quiet.
I narrowed my eyes at them. "The answer is yes. Now leave them be."
The two left.
I decided to sit down and lean against Bepo as well. I laid my head back and I felt the back of my head touch Chi's side.
I tipped my hat down and decided I would take a nap as well.
