A New Heart

To Mend Wounds

Chi's POV:
I felt hollow inside. I didn't feel good inside or out. Bepo had tried to make me feel better, telling me I was wanted. But I wasn't so sure anymore. He didn't see the look in Law's eyes.
I skipped dinner. I stayed in Bepo's room. He came back with some food for me but I wasn't hungry.
I stayed with Bepo all night. I slept on top of him an his fur was softer than any blanket.

The next day I woke up in my own bed. Bepo leaving me felt terrible. All my emotions crashed down on me all at once. Things I'd pushed back broke free tearing at my once peaceful frame of mind. And as everything's tore me apart from the inside I'd never felt so alone.
Silent tears poured down my cheeks and soaked my pillow.
I'd been crying for a little while when I heard my door open. I curled up trying to hide away under my blankets.
My bed dipped as weight was added. A warm body came behind me. An arm was wrapped around and pulled me against a warm chest.
I knew it was Law but I wasn't sure of what I wanted. I wanted comfort but not specifically from him.
"Chi" he whispered in a gentle voice. He grabbed me tightly and pulled me closer. "I'm so sorry for what I said. I didn't mean any of it. I never wanted you to feel hurt or unwanted." His hot breath washed over the back of my neck.
His words felt nice but I just couldn't be sure if they were genuine.
"Chi. I am so sorry." He kissed the back of my neck. "If you can ever forgive me I promise to never be that way again."
Maybe I did want his comfort.
I turned around and curled into him. My tears became less and less.
"Why?" I asked.
He sighed wrapping both his arms around me. "Because... you scared the shit out of me. I don't think you understand how terrified I was of losing you. I nearly did." He pulled my head up making me look into his grey eyes. There was hurt and worry swirling in them. "I haven't had many relationships and I certainly haven't had a girlfriend so willing to die."
"That is the pirate way captain" I whispered in a shaky voice.
"I know." He kissed my forehead. "I understand that but I wish you'd be more keen on keeping yourself alive."
I smiled at him. "I think I have more reason to live because of you."
He chuckled. "And why's that?"
I looked into his dark eyes lovingly. "Because I love you" I said simply.
He looked shocked for a moment.
"I...I love you too."
His cheeks were tinted pink making him look extra adorable.
I chuckled, leaning closer to him. Our lips were just inches apart. "You're really cute when you blush captain."
He rolled his eyes. "Shut up" he muttered and then closed the gap between our lips.

-Time-skip-
1 year later

We had been on Sabaody Archipelago for a couple months. Upon initial arrival I soon found out my bounty had gone up further. That does happen after killing an admiral. My modest 120,000,000 bellies had gone up to 230,000,000 bellies. Law wasn't exactly thrilled when I became more wanted than him. But he quickly got over it. I made sure his ego was appeased...and so was his libido.

Because of this Law put me in disguise. I was to wear a blonde wig and hood if I went out in public. He called them extra precautions. I rolled my eyes at him but went along with it because I understood it was important to him.

I went to go find Law. I knew where he was. He'd been hauled up in his study for the last two weeks working on something. He wouldn't tell me and practically ignored me. Well today I'd had enough.
I knocked on his door and he hummed a response. That was the best we'd gotten out of him in a while. He was even distant to Bepo.
I walked in, closing the door behind me. "Captain" I called in a sweet voice. "You've been stuck in here forever. Come outside, I hear fresh air is good for you." I went around him and massaged his tense shoulders.
"I don't have time Chi. I'm busy."
I pouted. "You've been saying the same thing for weeks." I reached down his chest and raked my nails over his chest. "Come on. You can't take a break? Even for me." I leaned down and bit at his earlobe. "You haven't touched me in three weeks" I said in a sultry voice. "Just an hour. That's all I'll need."
I felt his body tense under me.

I thought I was going to get what I wanted.
Thought.
"This is too important Chi" he said in a gruff voice.
I knew I'd turned him on. I could hear it in his voice, plus he'd stopped his scribbling on his paper.
I whined wantonly in his ear. "Please Law."
"I said no. Go play with Bepo."
I quickly sat on the edge of his desk. "I don't wanna play with Bepo. I wanna play with you."
I raised my bare foot to rub against his inner thigh.
I'd been planning this. I wore tempting clothing just to add to it. I wore a black skirt and one of his shirts that I'd cut short to show my stomach.
So as I raised my leg to tempt him I also knew I was flashing him my black panties shamelessly.
"I know what you're doing is important, but you're killing yourself. You've lost weight from barely eating, the bags under your eyes are worse, and this is the longest conversation you've had with someone in weeks. What would your doctor say?"
I got a corner of a smirk from him. I'm slowly winning him over!
"I'm fine. I'm almost done then I can get all the sleep and you that I need." He ran his hand up my leg. It sent a shiver down my spine.
"Please" I whined. I tried rubbing his thigh again.
"No Chi." All hints of a smile were gone. He grabbed my calf and put my leg next to the other. "Now go."
It pissed me off being dismissed so rudely. Not to mention how neglected I'd been. For weeks!
I hopped off the desk landing on the pads of my feet.
"Fine!" I said angrily. He looked up at me curiously. "When you get done with whatever this is you can fuck yourself!"
"Chi" he said sounding exasperated.
I put my foot in the edge of his desk. I kicked it and left. I heard it slam against the wall and then I slammed the door.
Some boyfriend! Can't even give his girlfriend ten minutes.
I stomped to my room and changed. I forwent the wig and just threw on the cloak he'd bought me and some shoes. I ran up to the deck and then I went into the city.
