Bry's POV:

After she gave me the jacket I was able to stay warm through out the night. I woke up at the crack of dawn 6 AM. I was very tired but I had to get up and move spots before I was beat by the shop owner again for loitering near his store. I saw a woman looking at me and it wasn't mel sadly, she called out to me "What are you doing out here so early?" She yelled. I told her I was doing a morning jog even though it was a bit obvious I had no place to stay I was just moving especially with this backpack. "Isn't it a bit early, and why are you so bundled up it's 72 Degrees out" I told her I get cold easy and she nodded. She seemed familiar I shrugged it off. It took about 15 minutes for me to find a decent place to set up. I put up my tent and set down my things and took a long nap.

*A Few Hours Later*

I woke up I went into a local pet shop and asked for the time. The clerk responded "9:30 AM sir" I muttered a thank you then left and went back to my tent. I took off my jacket and my ears perked up along with letting my tail swoosh about for a bit after not too long I decided to be cautious and cover up again. Suddenly Mel came to mind and how kinds she was to me, the thought was quickly shook out of my head when I was suddenly attacked by a passerby.

"YOU SCUM WILL NEVER LEARN!"

Followed by a barrage of kicks and punches. I was defenceless I withstood it. Immensely begging and apologising what felt like an eternity was only a good 15 seconds they left but not without letting of a slew of names and disrespectful things slip from their mouth. All beaten and bruised the only thing I could do was cry helplessly. With a peek out the tent I saw that the person who attacked me was the woman who questioned me. She must've followed me and looked at me while I was taking off my jacket and saw my ears. I don't know why my kind is hated we did nothing to anyone. As more and more tears started to flow the more I broke down in almost despair like state. I just wanted to be loved I sat my head started hurting from all the crying

Mels POV:

It was around 11AM I had finally got to where he was staying last night. He was no where to be found, I asked the shop keeper and he simply told me "He couldn't have gone far with how early he left, I was close to hurting him for loitering near MY store" I muttered several things under my breath then left. I saw a woman passing by I asked her if she had seen a boy with a backpack and black hair and green eyes. She seemed puzzled "You mean that no good scum of the earth? Hes a couple blocks down and if you have anything to say about my insult you'll end up like him" I quickly fired back with insults of my own and she walked off surprisingly. I went to look for him it only took about 10 minutes before I saw a oddly placed tent. I called for him. He peeped cutely outside of his tent, "hello?" He quickly realized it was me and became apprehensive and shy so he backed away and I could see the slightest hue of pink across his face, but I also saw dried up tears and blood. He was badly beat up blood across his face and jacket, poor thing just wants to survive I whisper to him "it's okay baby I wanna help you" he stays silent for a second but suddenly peers his head through the tent opening once more I ask him to come out and talk to me and hesitantly obliged. He sat and I asked him "baby how did this happen to you?" He stumbled around his words for a moment then said "a lady I had seen a couple minutes before I got here followed me and beat me" Tears started to form in his little green eyes I couldn't help but want to help him my instincts were kicking in. Soon after he let out a full cry he couldn't even form coherent sentences just whines. Without a second thought I kneeled down and started wiping his tears and blood and dirt off of his face. I whispered "don't worry sweetie im here cry all you need to" I opened my arm and then there he was crying into my shoulders and I couldn't help but cry with him.
