Elton is in the studio recording Saturday Night’s Alright. His husband John Reid is there along with his step-son Freddie. Elton and Bernie were going over the lyrics and Elton was playing a few keys on his piano trying to get a melody going.

Freddie climbs up on the bench squishing himself between Bernie and his step-dad, “I wanna play!” he smashes a few ear piercing notes and beams up at them.

Bernie gives Elton a look. Instead of getting the little one off the damn bench he taught Freddie a few keys. Which would be the start for Freddie’s love of piano. The boy may not understand all the musical notes nor their names but he was damn good at it.

Bernie was even impressed. Called Freddie an, Elton Jr with those piano skills. Freddie pouts a little he didn’t want to be a junior. Elton noticed the change in his face and pulled him to the side to ask what’s wrong,

“I don’t wanna be a junior.” Freddie states,

“Oh baby, Uncle Bernie was just teasing.” Elton explains sitting down, “He means you’re like me since we both play piano well.”

Freddie nods, “Okay, dada.”

Elton felt his heart melt. He picks up Freddie and puts him next to him,

“It's getting late, have you seen my mates?

Ma, tell me when the boys get here

It's seven o'clock, and I wanna rock,”

Elton plays the keys for Freddie and sings. Freddie wants to sing too, “Want to get a belly full of beer!” He shouts.

Both Elton and Reid burst out laughing and Freddie laughs too not knowing why they are all laughing. Reid picks him up and peppers his face with kisses, “Such a silly little boy.”

“I’m not silly papa, you’re silly!” Freddie giggles

Reid chuckles and sets Freddie down on the bench, “What else can you play?”

Freddie panics and plays a shaky “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. Reid and Elton praise him.

Freddie felt proud of himself. He made both his fathers proud. Both fathers! He's never done that before.

He gets pulled into a tight hug and he's given some animal crackers. Elton keeps working on his song. Freddie keeps trying to help.

Bernie and Elton sit him down in his own chair and give him a pen to write down his own lyrics. Freddie was so happy to be given a big boy job.

Reid even "manages" Freddie's writing and Freddie is so happy that his papa thinks the song will be a hit. Freddie bounces and writes more "genius" lyrics.

Elton plops down next to Freddie, "Can you sing what I got so far?"

Freddie's eyes light up and he nods, "Ye!"

"My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys

And my old lady, she don't care

My sister looks cute in her braces and boots

A handful of grease in her hair!"

Elton howls with laughter as Freddie sings his heart and soul out. He was good singer just the lyrics were funny coming out of a kid's mouth.

Freddie belts out more lines dancing and swinging around the room. He sings his little heart out.

He then started singing nonsense and scribbling down words on his own paper. Freddie squeals and screams.

Elton joins him goofing around in the studio Reid sighs knowing no more work will be done he joins them.

Bernie sighs and smokes watching them. He stretches out bored. He starts packing up his shit for the day. After all, it's clear he's not needed anymore.

Looks like the fathers want to play with their little miracle. Bernie hands Elton the sheets of lyrics,

 "Work your magic."

Elton smiles and puts a hand on Freddie's back, "We'll work our magic.'

Bernie smiles and ruffles Freddie's hair,

"You're going to go far kid."

Freddie smiles wide and hugs him, "Thank you Uncle Bernie… I think." Freddie giggles.

Bernie hugs him tight and walks out to get dinner. Freddie bounces around, "I'm going to be a rockstar!"

Elton and Reid beams and hug Freddie tight, "I'm so glad you're going to be a rockstar."

Freddie sings and claps. Elton tickles him and makes him squeal. Freddie smacks and falls on his bum.

Freddie pouts and tears up. He reaches for his papa. Elton picks him up and cuddles him. Freddie relaxes and coos.

Elton and Reid take turns holding Fred as they walk back home. Freddie coos and sightsees the places he couldn't see before. When he's in his papa or dad's arms he's tall! He's like a bird in the sky!

Freddie nuzzles into his papa, "Belly full of beer!"

Reid laughs and elbows Elton, "You had to teach him that."

Elton laughs a deep belly laugh and kisses his step-son on the head, "That's my baby."

"So what are you going to call this song?" Reid asks as they approach their gate to their home.

"It's just unnamed for now." Elton explains, "Bernie hasn't given it one."

Freddie waves his hands, "Saturday Night!"

Reid snaps his fingers, "Saturday Night's Alright!"

Elton's eyes light up, "You're both geniuses!

He kisses each of their heads and kisses Reid on the lips, "I have two very smart men living with me.''

Freddie beams. He was going to be a rockstar and a genius! Oh he was going to make his dads proud!

Elton and Reid carry him upstairs to his room. Their French bulldog follows them happily,

"Blue-jean baby

L.A. lady

Seamstress for the band

Pretty-eyed

Pirate smile

You'll marry a music man."

Elton sings bundling Fred up. Reid sings along embarrassed,

"Ballerina

You must've seen her

Dancing in the sand

And now she's in me

Always with me

Tiny dancer in my hand."

Reid and Elton sing their hearts out to him. Freddie is snoring softly and looking so cute. They can't wait to see when Freddie's a rockstar. For now their Freddie is a little baby and they'll cherish that for now. Their little rockstar.
