Eijun delivered a pitch to the hitter.
They were in the second inning at the moment, with one out and runners on second and third. Seidou was excited because of the previous play, in which they were extremely fortunate to get all three runners and the batter out. Eijun, on the other hand, is still a little worried since he wants to impress Chris.
"Ball!" As Eijun's fastball landed in the catcher's mitt, the empire yelled. Because Eijun pitched so poorly in the first inning, the Empire has started calling whatever poor location the ball went to as a ball. As a result, there is some bias.
'I can't seem to catch the timing of his pitches,' the hitter reflected as he glanced at Eijun. The hitter returns to his initial position, ready to hit whatever Eijun delivers next.
'If I don't swing early, I could be under pressure.' As Eijun was halfway through his delivery, the batter reflected.
While the hitter clinched his teeth, Eijun noticed the batter not swinging.
The hitter swung the bat as a coky smile made its way onto his face but immediately plummeted as he discovered the ball struck more towards the start of the bat. 'It moved?!' he said as he dashed to first place.
Haruichi grinned at the ball that got hurled at him. He swiftly grabbed it and tagged the runner out at first base.
"It appears they're getting tangled, you can't tell when Eijun is ready to throw the ball, that's why they're struggling," Yuji smirked to Miyuki. He spoke with a heavy voice as a coky atmosphere encircled him, making the catcher sweatdrop.
"You're not playing with them, why are you cocky?" Miyuki muttered so Yuji couldn't hear. Yuji gave the catcher a short glance after hearing what he said, but soon returned his focus to the game.
"Who is he?" Yuji inquires, having noticed a blonde guy among the crowd shouting at Chris.
"Oh, that's Chris's father," Miyuki says, glancing around.
Yuji nodded as Chris removed the catcher mask and held it up with his left hand.
"The contest is simply starting; let us crUsh ThEm!" Chris exclaimed, "Hands in the air!" Seidou was taken aback by Chris's outburst; he is normally calm and collected, with a grim expression on his face.
Eijun smiled as he glanced at Chris, "So Chris-senpai can also shout loudly, but your voice broke a bit," Eijun exclaimed, causing Chris to flush in humiliation.
"Yo," Kuramochi exclaimed when the first-string baseball team arrived at Miyuki and Yuji's location.
"Are you finally here, Yoichi?" Yuji stated as he smirked arrogantly.
"That's no way to treat your upperclassmen, Yuji," Ryosuke said as he chopped the taller man's head off. Yuji grinned and looked down at the pink-haired boy. He knew better than to mock Ryosuke... But he was going to do it nevertheless.
"Are you saying that because you're small or because people frequently mistake you for a first-year student?" Yuji, with an innocent expression on his face, questions.
Everything was deafeningly quiet... They all pulled away from the two without saying anything. Ryosuke had given Yuji a fake grin while emitting a frightening atmosphere. Ryosuke is frightening when he gets furious. Kuramochi could advise anyone not to meddle with him based on his experiences with Ryosuke retaliating.
However, Ryosuke was not the only one emitting an aura. Yuji was peering down at the short guy in front of him, letting out his aura to indicate he wasn't scared.
"Are you trying to frighten me, shortie?" Yuji spoke with malice in his voice.
"No... Why would you think so highly of yourself, first-year?" Ryosuke spoke with profound bitterness in his voice.
"R-Ryosuke... maybe we should keep watching... the game," Kuramochi muttered slowly, causing the two guys to turn to him and give him a sharp gaze, making him jump.
"Stop it/don't," Jun and Yuki said simultaneously, yanking the boys apart.
"You're expected to respect your upperclassmen," Jun added, prompting Yuji to murmur an alright and divert his gaze to the game.
"And you have to set an example for the underclassmen," Yuki continued, making Ryosuke grimace but say nothing as he returned his focus to the game.
The first-stringers sweated as they gazed at the two. 'They have precisely the same personality,' they thought as they shifted their gaze between Yuji and Ryosuke.
The team stood there watching as the batter struck the ball, causing it to soar up behind the catcher and batter.
"Is he chasing it?" Kuramochi shouted as Chris rushed to collect the ball before it reached the ground.
Everyone yelled in concern and amazement when Chris dived for the ball. A thick layer of dust blanketed the area, making everyone wait with expectation for what would happen next.
When the dust settled, they noticed Chris holding his glove up, despite the fact that the ball was barely in it. The crowd roared in applause, and Seiodu exhaled in the satisfaction that he wouldn't be further hurt.
"Are you all right, Chris-senpai?" While everyone celebrated, Eijun shouted and ran to Chris, who was slowly rising off the ground.
The first string grinned at Chirs being the same old guy he was... well, he was a little more reckless, but outside that, he was the same old person he was.
"He'll never change," Miyuki joked as Eijun and Chris returned to the dugout.
"Looks like he's next to bat," Yuji observed as Chris approached the batter's box with a bat in hand. With a smile on his face, he thought, 'Can't wait to watch how this goes.'
