Requiem

Lost in the raging war of time

Incapable of turning around

Thick fog strewn the forest floor

I can't think.

Bullets fly and heroes die.

Enemies still stand.

They will hear no requiem.

The dead that lay at my feet repeat the same thought

'Why, Why, Why?'

They cannot fathom their unearthly death

They cannot fathom the time they never got

The time they wasted.\

They fall

Their enemies still stand.

They will hear no requiem.

None at all will be sung.

No candles will be lit

No sounds will be heard.

No incense will be burning.

No one left alive to remember them

No on left alive to continue their burden.

Once they fall

They will hear no requiem

Because no one cared.

Didn't they?

Life goes on

Time doesn't stop

When one hero falls, another stands

When two enemies stand, both heroes fall.

When two enemies fall

No one survives at all

They will hear no requiem

They see no glowing candle light

They will smell no incense.

They will hear no requiem

I fell.

My requiem was quiet.
