The next morning, Little Flippy was still sad about what happened last night and sat alone on the couch when his sister came and sat next to him.
"What's wrong Flippy?" Little Angel asked as she tries to comfort him.
"I was thinking about what happened last night." Little Flippy says sadly.
Little Angel can tell how sad Little Flippy is feeling right now, but she couldn't blame him for it.
"Did you flip out last night?" Little Angel asked softly.
Little Flippy responded with a sad nod as he teared up. Little Angel gasps in shock, her little brother has never flipped out before. But before he could do anything, she wants to know what is happening to him.
"Mom, I think something is wrong with him!" Little Angel called her mother.
Mary comes by when she heard her daughter and saw how sad her son is.
"Honey, are you okay? What's wrong?" She asked.
"I've been thinking about what happened last night after dad left, I think I might've flipped out." Little Flippy says sadly.
"Oh my, that's terrible. Don't worry, we'll get you to the hospital to find out what's wrong, the doctor will know what to do." Mary speaks.
"Okay." Little Flippy replies.
"Hop in the car kids, we're heading off to the hospital to find the problem Flippy has." Mary says.
"Okie dokie." Little Angel replied.
The three animals hopped in the car, Little Flippy and Angel both sat in the back seats while Mary sits on the front driver's seat. Then they were off to the hospital, during the ride, little Flippy can't get his mind off of what happened last night and is still sad, Little Angel and Mary can tell. When they arrived at the hospital, Mary parks the car and brings her kids in the building to meet the doctor.
"Hello doctor, I thought we'd stop by." Mary spoke.
"Oh hello Mary, what can I do for you?" He asked.
"My son has a problem, he first got it last night." Mary replies.
"What happened? How did he get that?" The Doctor asked.
"I first flipped out last night shortly after dad left, I felt something snap in me, and I didn't know what it was." Little Flippy says worriedly.
"Oh my, that doesn't sound good." The doctor replied.
"I know, and we didn't know what is wrong with him." Little Angel added.
"Well you came to the right place, I'll take a look at him to see what is wrong with him." The doctor says.
Little Flippy, however, is a bit shy, and hugs his mom tightly, feeling a little afraid.
"Flippy thinks you're going to trigger him." Little Angel says.
"I promise I won't trigger you Flippy." The doctor says calmly.
Little Flippy calms down a little bit and nods slightly. Mary carefully hands her 3 year old little bear cub to the doctor, allowing him to hold him close.
"He's a bit shy, but he's socialable and kind to others." Mary spoke.
"I can tell he is, I'll just look at Flippy so I can find out what's wrong, I'll let you know after that." The doctor says.
He then took little Flippy to the other room to find out what the problem is with him. He sat the boy down gently on the seat and takes a look at him, however, the little cub is still a little shy, but luckily, not triggered.
"Hmmm, he does look normal, now, let's take a look at the x-ray." The doctor thought.
Little Flippy steps in carefully and the doctor takes a look at his X-ray. His skeleton in the picture is normal, but what he saw in the little cub's head shocked him. Little Fliqpy is in there and is probably asleep right now, but looks a little angry in his sleep.
"Well golly Flippy, that thing in your head looks just like you, but a little angry." The doctor spoke before Little Flippy stepped out of the x-ray.
Little Flippy was scared to hear that, he's never been having little Fliqpy living in his head before, it's like he got possessed by something.
"It's in my head?" Little Flippy asked worriedly.
"Yes, it looks almost like you, but it looks a bit scary." The doctor answers.
Little Flippy gulps in fear, as if he's scared of whatever Little Fliqpy was, and why he looks a little different from him. After looking at the young cub, the doctor gets the conclusion and brings Little Flippy back to Mary and Little Angel, who were both patiently waiting in the waiting room. They were sitting in their seats until they saw Little Flippy and the doctor. Little Angel and Mary got up and walked over to them.
"Okay, I have a conclusion." The doctor says as he gives Little Flippy back to Mary.
"What is it doctor?" Mary asks as she holds her little boy close to her.
Little Flippy wraps his arms around Mary's neck carefully, not wanting to hurt her.
"Well, it seems to me that your son has PTSD, Flippy, I'm afraid you have a rare case of Post traumatic stress disorder." The doctor says.
The three were shocked to hear that, Little Flippy never had Post traumatic stress disorder in all his life.
"Oh no!" Little Flippy says worriedly. "What am I gonna do?!"
"Well, there's a few symptoms." The doctor explains. "Side effects include nightmares, unwanted memories, trouble sleeping, anxiety, and, the last stage. When Flippy sees or hears anything that reminds him of the war, he'll flip out and turn into this evil monster."
Little Flippy was scared of hearing this, he has never heard of it for a long time.
"Is there anything we can do to help our son doctor? How can we keep it from happening?" Mary asks.
"Yes, there's plenty of ways to help fight PTSD." The doctor answers.
"Like what doc?" Little Angel asked.
"To get him to calm down, splash some water on his face before he flips out, that'll help him snap out of his trance." The doctor says.
"Got it, what else?" Mary asks.
"I also know that in case he sees or hears anything that reminds him of the war, cover his eyes and ears so he doesn't get triggered, that might also work on him." The doctor added.
"Good thinking, then what?" Mary asked once more.
"Also another thing Mary, if you could take him somewhere nice and calming like the lake or the park, that'll really help him a lot." The doctor finished.
"Now I get it." Little Angel says.
"That's a great idea, thanks doctor." Mary replies.
"Yes, thank you." Little Flippy says once he calms down a little.
"You're welcome, I wish you guys the best of luck." The doctor says.
"Thanks doctor, goodbye." Mary says.
Then they left the doctors appointment from the hospital, but little Flippy is still a bit worried, hoping that whatever the doctor said will work on him.
"Don't worry honey, we'll help you fight your PTSD no matter what." Mary says with a smile.
"You will? Really?" Little Flippy asked.
"Of course we will Flippy, we won't let you down, and we'll do what we can to help you get better, we promise." Little Angel replied.
This made Little Flippy smile and feel relieved, he hugged Mary and Little Angel as they hugged him back.
"Thank you!" Little Flippy spoke with a smile.
"You're welcome little bro." Little Angel replied.
"Anytime kiddo." Mary added.
Then they hopped in the car and head home, hoping that whatever Mary and Little Angel will do, they will do what they can to help little Flippy feel better.
