Chapter 36: Message

Normal pov.

Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling went up to the mountain again, just the two of them. The other Jin disciples are still tired so Jin Ling gave them a permission to rest for today.

They went to the spot where Lan Shizui last seen. The sign that was made by Jin Ling is still there.

"So... maybe this is the door?" Lan Jingyi asked.

Jin Ling nodded.

"How do we get in though... is there some kind of array or condition in order to enter?" Lan Jingyi look around.

"If I know, Shizui might be here with us now" Jin Ling glare at Lan Jingyi.

Jin Ling went to search between bushes and trees while Lan Jingyi still try to call Shizui.

"Stop that you idiot! We already know that shouting won't help!" Jin Ling smacked Lan Jingyi's head.

"Well, that's yesterday. Today might be different!" Lan Jingyi huffed.

Jin Ling didn't talk back and just focus on searching. Every second is precious now. He doesn't have times to argue with Lan Jingyi.

"Jin Ling, should we just wait at the inn? That man said he will be back in 5 days anyway" Lan Jingyi asked.

"Not 'will' but 'might'. Also, no. I want to search for him. I feel like, if I just wait, I will regret it later" Jin Ling answered while keep looking around.

"What if your uncles come?"

"There are some disciples that stayed at the inn. They will bring them here if they've arrived..."

"Oh, but what if-"

"Shut the fuck up Lan Jingyi! If you don't want to help, then don't fucking help!"

Lan Jingyi can only stay still. He did sounds like he search for Lan Shizui half-heartedly. It's not like he doesn't care about Lan Shizui, he just didn't know what to do anymore. He thought, instead of wasting their energy, it is better to just wait and see.

"I'm going to look from above once more" Jin Ling said while he is calling SuiHua. Lan Jingyi only nodded and didn't follow.

Jin Ling then left him and went up.

"Shizui... please be safe. I am sorry. I might be wrong. Forcing you to accept the fact that I am in love with two people. And even asked you to get along with him and support my love..." Lan Jingyi decided to sit down near the mark.

"I miss you..."

Jingyi grabbed a stick and start to scribble on the soil. Writing his name, Jin Ling's, and Shizui's.

I hope we can be together and lead a happy life.

Lan Shizui pov

I don't remember when I fall asleep. But when I open my eyes, the sky is still dark. So now I can conclude that the time has stop here. Or maybe, this place will always stay dark.

I went out from the cave to look for more firewoods and foods. Like before, there is no animals or bugs. But this time he found a river with no fish (as expected). He scooped the water and start to drink it.

Maybe I should take a bath as well...

Without waiting, I stripped into my undergarments and dip myself to the water. The coldness of the water helps me to cool down my head. I started to think more clear and feel fresh.

"So what if he also like Jin Ling? It's not like he will leave me and elope with him" I mumbled.

Jingyi never mention about leaving me. We spent years together and after we got to know Jin Ling, we went together everywhere.

It's not like anything will change if he date us, right? Jin Ling also likes me.

Why am I so emotional back then....

I stand up and wear my clothes back.

I need to get out from here.

I walked back to the cave. Everything is still the same. The piles of food, the firewood, their names on the soi-

My body stiffened. Their names... Jingyi, Jin Ling, and Shizui.

The handwriting is definitely Jingyi's!

"Did he wrote this?" I inspected the writing. The shape is still neat and fresh. Meaning, it is written just now.

I hurredly grabbed a wood stick and write:

'I'm here'
