Nie huaisang said “Wei-xiong , listen to my advice. The Cloud Recesses isn’t like Lotus Pier. During this trip to Gusu, remember there is one person you must not provoke.”

Wei Wuxian replied, “who?”

Nie Huaisang said, “You need to be careful of his favorite pupil, named Lan Zhan.”

Wei Wuxian asked, “ Lan Zhan?”

Nie huaisang completed the sentence “ of the Lan Sect’s Two Jades? Lan Wangji”

The two sons of Gusu Lan Sect’s leader, Lan Huan and Lan Zhan, had always enjoyed the reputation of the Lan Sect’s Two Jades. Wei wuxian asked “ are you sure?”

Nie Huaisang spoke, “yes the  Lan Zhan It’s that one. Oh goodness, he’s as old as you and me, but he doesn’t have a single bit of the liveliness a young person has. He’s stiff and strict, even worse than his uncle.”

Wei Wuxian gave an oh, and asked, “Is he a boy who looks very very pretty and charming?”

Sneering, Jiang Cheng said, “Who looks ugly in the Gusu Lan Sect? His clan even rejects disciples with untidy features. Why don’t you try to find one with a mediocre appearance and show me?”

Wei Wuxian emphasized, “Especially pretty.” He pointed at his head. “Dressed in white from head to toe, wearing a forehead ribbon, and carrying a silver-colored sword on his back. He’s good-looking, but has a serious face, and he looks exactly like he’s in mourning.”

Grinning and blushing  Wei Wuxian replied bashfully “Nothing happened. When we arrived, didn’t we pass by a liquor shop called ‘Emperor’s Smile’? Last night, I kept tossing and turning and couldn’t bear it, so I went down the mountain to the city and brought back two jars. We can’t drink this in Yunmeng nor " there" because im not allowed my fathers told me.”

Jiang Cheng said, “Then, where’s the liquor?”

Wei Wuxian responded, “Well, just as I flipped over the ledge of the wall, before I could even bring a foot inside, I was caught by him.”

A youth said, “Wei-xiong, you’re truly lucky. Perhaps he had just left seclusion then and was on night patrol, and you were caught red-handed by him.”

Jiang Cheng spoke, “Those who return at night aren’t allowed to enter until seven in the morning. How did he let you in?”

Wei Wuxian threw up his hands and said, “So, he didn’t let me in. He really wanted me to take the leg I had inside back out. You tell me, how was I supposed to accept this? Then, he suddenly jumped up, light as a feather, and asked me what I was holding in my hands.”
