chapter 11 'Publicity stunt'
We pulled up to the Brooks cabin and like always people were everywhere. I got out of the car and people turned to face us. Boys looked from my feet to my head causing the girls they were with to smack them. I laughed lightly as we walked towards the cabin. When I opened the door my eyes fell to the two boys standing in front of me.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" I groaned.
Serena looked to me and clenched her teeth together. She gave me the look that she didn't know they were going to be here. Harry and Niall actually crashed the party.
"I'm gonna leave you guys to talk and go see Amanda. It was nice to see you boys" she batted get eyelashes slightly before walking away and I shook my head.
"Honestly can't you guys just leave me alone?!" I raised my voice slightly.
"We just wanted to make sure you were okay" I rose my eyebrow looking at Harry.
"Did he make you come with him or something? Because last time I checked you were the one saying you couldn't be friends right now and you were the one who walked out the door" he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"That doesn't mean I don't care about you still Ainsley. I just want to make sure you're okay and so does Niall." I didn't even get to say anything before someone grabbed my waist.
"Ainsley Calder now this is how I remember you." I looked over to Nathan who smirked at me and I smiled.
I was wearing a black bustier crop top that had gold studs on it, with a black leather jacket that I left open and a pair of black highwaisted shorts. For shoes I was wearing black combat boots. My new hair was just styled in loose waves and I had some eyeshadow with thicked winged eyeliner and red lipstick for makeup.
"I decided to go back to my old look" I laughed flirty and I could tell Niall and Harry were uncomfortable.
"Well I certainly like it. I thought you were coming alone" he nodded his head towards Niall and Harry.
"Yeah it's a long story actually. But they were just leaving right boys?" I glared at them and Niall smirked.
"No we're gonna stay I think. But don't mind us Ainsley" I rolled my eyes exhaled deeply.
"Whatever. Nathan let's go get a drink" I grabbed his arm and pulled him away. He poured me something and handed me the red cup. I grabbed it and he leaned against the counter looking at me.
"Aren't you and the blonde one dating?" he asked and I took a sip of my drink before answering. It slightly burned as I wasn't really used to it anymore.
"It's complicated" I sighed and he smirked coming closer to me. He grabbed my waist pulling me close and leaned down to whisper in my ear.
"Lucky me" goosebumps covered my entire body.
*Niall's Pov*
Harry and I decided it would be a good idea to go to this party tonight and keep an eye on Ainsley. Well actually it took some convincing to make Harry come with me. I knew he just didn't want to annoy her or to see her like that but as soon as I
said that if he cared about her he would come, he was in my car. She did not seem impressed we were there. It was still weird for me to see her how she was now. She cut off a lot of her gorgeous hair and dyed some of it black. She dressed a lot different now and I mean yeah it was attractive but I liked her the way she was before. As soon as that Nathan guy came up to her and said she looked how he remembered her it clicked. She had told me before that after she was raped she completely changed and I'm guessing that was how she changed before. I knew I was responsible for this sudden change again and I felt terrible about it. Harry had surprisingly gone to talk to some girls and I wanted to do the same but I was worried about our
publicity stunt. People can't find out we're not together. And well maybe I
cared about her too much for that.
