Chapter 57: The Fall Formal

"Ugh, one of these days when we finally defeat Hawk Moth. I'm going to castrate him." Ruby said angrily as her, Robin, and Ladybug detransform.

And the reason why the huntress would say such a thing? Well, it's quite simple, Hawk Moth had Akumatized Mr. Ramier into Mr. Pigeon again and at some point, the villain had made a pigeon poop on them and guess who got it on the top of her head.

"Look on the bright side, at least the Miraculous Cure got rid of it." Marinette proclaimed as they walked back to school before lunch is over.

Taking her backpack off, Marinette digs through it and brought out a plastic water bottle.

"Hey, Marinette." Adrien greeted as he walked back into the school.

Marinette smiled awkwardly and wave back. "Hi Adrien." As soon as he walked through the doors Marinette snapped out of it and made her way inside with her friends.

Suddenly there was the sound of feedback from the speakers. "May I have your attention, today I will be announcing the finalists for Fall Formal Queen."

"Chloé Bourgeois!"

Chloé who was nearby scoffs smugly and flips her hair like the diva that she is. "Naturally."

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng!"

Drinking her water at the time, Marinette did a spit take and nearly choked. "SAY WHAT?!" She said, completely shocked that her name was called for something she did not even auditioned for.

That's when she realized that Alya must have been the one to nominate her. Sighing in annoyance, Marinette facepalms and shakes her head.

"Mireille Caquet."

"Ruby Rose!"

Ruby looked up in shock, "Huh? How?!"

"Someone must have nominated you." Marinette concluded.

"Who would nominate me?" Ruby questioned.

Marinette shrugs her shoulders with uncertainty since she does not know who nominated the silver eyed girl either.

"Juleka Couffaine!"

Gasping in shock, everyone immediately turned their head to the punk girl. Who was now being congratulated by her friends and Rose even jumped into her arms and hugged her tightly.

"I can't believe it! You actually did it!" Rose said happily, as Juleka hugs her back. "Yeah, same."

"Juleka is competing?!" Marinette said in shock.

"Something wrong?" Ruby questioned.

"It's nothing, it's just that..." Marinette looks down with unease before sighing in defeat. "You know the horror movie Carrie?" She questioned.

The couple looked at her in bewilderment but nod their heads.

"You know the pig blood scene?"

Taking a small step back from her, Ruby and Damian looked at their friend with concerned looks as they slowly nod their heads.

"Well...four years ago, Juleka had gotten Chloé disqualified from the contest. So, Chloé decided to get back at her by doing a rendition of that scene but instead of pig's blood she used tomato soup."

The designer then grimaces as she thinks about that day and how traumatized Juleka was. And while she did feel extremely bad for her friend, she can't help but be happy that it happened a year before Hawk Moth appeared.

She does not know how both her and Chat Noir would fair if Juleka had been turned into an akumatized villain that was similar to Carrie.

Even the thought of it made a shiver of fear go down her spine.
