We walked slowly into the alley, but I just had a bad feeling about this place. Once we were farther into the alley Evan says to me,"I guess we can just leave. I must have been hearing things." Then all of a sudden we heard a loud pounding sound from even deeper in the alley then the noise turned into a creepy, gurgling scream. We ran toward the sound without thinking about what we might find. A few seconds later we found out where the scream was coming from. About five meters away was a tall man, probably around 6 foot 8, in a dark colored trench coat, with an evil looking hat on his head, strangling the homeless guy that Evan, Joel, and I used to always call Jimmy the Rat when we were younger. Evan and I just stood there with our mouths wide open, not knowing what to do. That was until Evan decided to be an idiot and shouted," Hey! Tall guy pick on somebody your own size." But I knew we would not last two minutes with that guy in a fight. We were both only fourteen and were both shorter than 5 foot 4. The creepy man did not turn around but he did say," You kids aren't supposed to be here." in a voice so quietly, it was almost a whisper. I wanted to help Jimmy but I really didnt want to mess with this guy. Finally I decided to say something. I knew he couldn't do anything to us because we were just kids.

" Hey retarded creepy  guy! Leave Jimmy alone or were gonna call the cops." Wrong choice of words. The man dropped Jimmy to the ground and turned to face us. I couldn't see his face very well because of the hat he was wearing but what I did see was that we should not expect any kindness from him. Jimmy ended up getting away but Evan and I were the ones who were in danger now.

" So Evan.  I think we should run." Both of us took off running but of course we had to get some more bad luck. When Evan was running he tripped on an old banana peel, causing him to slip. He managed to catch himself but his glasses still fell to the ground and he was as blind as a bat without them.

"Austin! I dropped my glasses. Help me find them," Evan screamed. U didn't know what to do. My best friend had dropped his glasses and the creepiest man I had ever seen was getting closer to us with unimaginable speed for a guy his size. What should I do, save my friend and risk getting caught by the evil guy or run away and leave my friend alone with a chance if him getting severely injured or maybe worse?
