The sound of clicking reached your ears as you typed away on the computer in front of you. The glow of the screen made your head hurt and made the pile of papers on your desk made you feel drowsy and stressed. Sighing, you leaned back in the pale plastic of your chair. The white ceiling above you suddenly becoming a lot more interesting than the work in front of you.

You could hear the light thumps of your coworker's foot hitting the ground in the office block in front of your own. Sitting up, you cracked your back before slouching back over your computer and starting at it again. You tried to focus on the task at hand, but the humming of the AC and the constant scratching of pencil on paper was too distracting.

Finally, you decided to just take the work home and try to finish them in the comfort of your own home. Throwing on your coat, you put all the assignments you had to do in one pile. Standing up, you started for the elevator. Your heels tapped on the ground as you made your way around the office blocks.

Walking into the steel box, you hit the button that'd take you to the main floor. You felt it go down for a minute before stopping at the floor you requested. Your eyes were fixated to the papers in your hand as you walked forward towards the glass door at the entrance. The light sound of rain hitting the pavement made you stop. Looking up, you were able to confirm that it really was raining and you wouldn't be able to make it to your apartment without getting the papers wet. Sighing, you decided to watch the calming downpour in annoyance.

"Uh, h-hey, do you need help?"

Frightened by the sudden voice, you quickly turned to face the stranger. You were so focused on the weather that you didn't hear the sound of footsteps come up next to you.

"Ah! Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." He claimed, "I just noticed that you didn't have an umbrella and it's raining quite hard and I had an umbrella so I just thought I could help you." He rambled, scratching the back of his head nervously.

"Yeah, thanks." You smiled at him, "Sorry, these papers are just a bit too heavy for me to carry with one hand, could you just hold it over me while I walk home?"

"Yeah, sure" He muttered, holding the white umbrella over the both of you as he started to follow beside you.

You glanced over at the gray-suited man as you walked. He certainly didn't look like someone who'd kill you, he just looked tired. The bags under his eyes were unmistakable and he seemed to be sweating a little.

"Hey, are you ok? You look nervous." You inquired, trying to humanize yourself in case he did attempt to murder you.

"Yeah, I'm ok. Are you ok?" He asked, awkwardly trying to make conversation.

"Heh, yeah I'm doing good." You chuckled a bit at the obviously very nervous man, "By the way, what's your name?" You questioned, looking up at him.

"Serizawa." He answered.

"Katsuya?"

"Y-Yeah."

"Hey! We used to be in the same class!" You giggled, as you walked across the wet street.

"Oh, w-we did? Di-did I hurt you?" He stammered, nervously awaiting your response.

"Hurt me? No." You answered, "I've always seen you pass by me in the halls but I was too awkward to talk to you at the time." You chuckled, smiling down at the paper in your hands.

He let out a relieved sigh, "Oh, that's good."

"Hey, what happened to you? You were at school one day then never came back."

"Uhh, I-It's a long story." He responded, "What did you do once you graduated?"

"I got stuck working for that business we were just at. originally I wasn't going to work there long, but it's not so bad. I guess I'll work there until I find something I feel passionate about."

You could hear the rain hit the top of the umbrella, it made you feel calm, so calm that you didn't really care if you got murdered anymore. The sidewalk below you was covered in puddles, but you didn't really mind that your feet were wet, you were just glad the documents in your hands weren't.

Eventually, the two of you made it to your apartment complex. The tall gray building seemed so much more welcoming than the dingy office you were originally at.

"This is me, thanks again for walking all the way over here with me, I hope I didn't keep you from anything." You said, reaching into your pocket for the key.

"N-No, of course not, I just got off of work so I don't have anything to do until tomorrow."

"Alright, well be safe walking back to wherever you're going then." You said, giving him a small smile before jamming the key into the lock in an attempt to open it. You watched as the tall man nodded and walked off to his next destination.

Opening the door you quickly stepped inside, kicking your heels off at a random wall in your house. You made your way over to the small desk tucked away in the corner of the living room and dropped the stack of work onto it. Clicking the lamp on you grabbed the first sheet and started on your work.

This was going to be a long night.
