Chapter 14

Sorry about that last chapter. It's a bit weird, but, the decision could come with some benefits.

I know it's so fucking weird, even i thought it was a bit too far-fetched, but it should come with something alright. Maybe even a bit better than alright.

Cherry's POV

holy shit. I did it. I got through the day. I got up from my chair, and stretched. Finally don't work at home anymore! so, no Keith running in and stealing my coffee. I actually miss when he would come in, and rest on my lap to keep me company while i worked.

It was kinda like online class. I had to mostly do meetings, which i really don't mind, as long as I get paid well. Job was kinda shit, though. But, it's a good one. Really did want to be a Vet. Guess I'll sort that out later.

I stepped out of the building after a while, and was greeted by Keith and Pico. They held onto me, and honestly, it felt nice. I gave them both a kiss, before suggesting we'd go visit Skid and Pump. Keith immediately said yes.

"I mean..sure. we have nothing else to do, and my sis is out of state, visiting mom up in Indiana.." Pico sighed.

"Awe. Get her to send pictures! I've never seen what y'all's mom looks like." I replied. He nodded, and pulled out his phone.

"Now, let's go see those kids!" Keith exclaimed. I giggled. "I love this man.." Pico and i spoke at the same time. We both realized, and started laughing a little. We finally got in the car, and drove to my mom's house.

Timeskip

We got out of the car, and went over to the door, and knocked. My mom opened the door, and greeted me. I gave her a hug, before stepping inside. "So, what brings you here?" Mom asked, sitting next to me on the couch. "I was wondering if we found out about the kids? their parents?" I asked.

"Ah..we did find out. Their parents have passed away years ago."

"Oh...that's bad." I went silent after that.

Skid ran up to me, and raised his arms up. I smiled, and picked him up, putting him on my lap. He hugged onto me, and i gently pat his back. He looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back. "You and Pump are just the cutest things in the world.." i admired. He giggled. "You're pretty too!" He replied. "Awe..not as pretty as you." I replied, booping his nose. He giggled again.

He hugged back onto me, not letting go. I felt as he fell asleep in my arms. "I think he likes you." Mom spoke, taking a picture. "I like him too. I feel bad his parents are gone, and no one's there for him. I'll take the kids off your hands." That last sentence made everyone gasp.
"You sure?" My mom questioned. I nodded.

"Alright then. Their stuff is still all in a suitcase upstairs. Just pack in what's out of their suitcases, and you can take em." She replied. I smiled, leaning in, and hugging her. "Thanks mom." I replied.

"No problem, sweetie." She spoke. I smiled, and stood up. I went upstairs, and went to their room. I layed Skid on the bed, and started to pack up the kids' things.

Timeskip

We got inside of the car. Keith would be driving us back. We would have to take the long way, as the roads are getting jammed.

I was in the back with the kids. Making sure they stayed still. They were still kinda hyper. I sighed, and sat the two on my lap. I hugged them close, and finally got them to fall asleep, though.. eventually, i did too.

Pico's POV

I looked back, to see Cherry and the kids asleep. I smiled. It was pretty cute, them all just relaxing. All of the sudden, the car stopped. "What's goin on?" I asked. "The fuckin cars breaking down.." Keith replied, getting out. I got out with him, and helped him push it to the side of the road. I went to check the trunk. Not many supplies. I went back up to the front, to see Keith messing around. He tried to fix the car, and i pulled out a small manual. "Ah, here we go. Move your hand." I spoke. He moved his hands.
