Dance Dance Infiltration

The first scene is of random students schmoozing at the dance. Bartholomew Oobleck is shown to be listening intently as Peter Port laughs over some unheard anecdote. Ozpin is standing off to the side with Glynda Goodwitch until General James Ironwood offers his hand for her to dance with him. Jaune Arc approaches Ruby Rose who is standing pensively near the refreshments tables, with a taller male next to her.

Jaune: I see you're hiding at the punch bowl too.

Ruby: Yep.

An audible *pop* can be heard as Ruby emphasizes the "p".

Juane: Who's your friend?

Ruby: Oh, (Y/N)!

(Y/N): Yeah Red~

He turn around revealing his features to Jaune who's eyes widened.

(Y/N): Yeah I know, big scary demon, see Ruby, (Sighing; To Ruby.) I knew this was gonna happen, (To Jaune.) Look if you don't want to be friends I-

Jaune: No, no, it's not that it's just that you look awesome!

(Y/N): (Surprised.) Oh, (Ruby playfully elbowed him; Happily.) Thanks.

Jaune: How come you two aren't dancing?

(Y/N): Honestly I asked her for a dance. but she said she didn't want to right now, (Leaning in and whispering) But that ain't gonna stop me.

Jaune: Oh I get it!

He raised his cup.

Jaune: To the socially awkward.

Ruby giggles, while (Y/N) chuckled and they clink glasses, as Ruby and Jaune took a sip they coughed.

(Y/N): That reminds me. (To Ruby.) Don't drink too much punch, I'm guessing you already know why.

Jaune: You spiked the punch didn't you?

(Y/N): Well if I didn't no one else would. 

Ruby: (To (Y/N); Giggling.) Of course you did, (To Jaune.) Sorry things didn't work out with Weiss.

Jaune: Meh, it's fine. Neptune's pretty "cool". I get why she went with him.

(Y/N): What do you mean?

Jaune: Well, come on, not many people can pull off blue hair.

Jaune took another sip drink his punch, as he coughed but a little less.

Ruby: No, we mean, Weiss came to the dance alone.

Jaune chokes in surprise.

Jaune: Uh, what?

Weiss is shown trying desperately to coax life out of a wilting white rose. When she fails, she looks visibly upset.

Ruby: Yeah, she said that she had too much to focus on to worry about boys.

Laughter draws Weiss' attention to Sun, Blake, and Neptune as the latter entertains the others with some impressions and other silly faces. Jaune, shown to be observing as well, becomes visibly perturbed.

Jaune: (Speaking in a low growl.) Hold my punch.

Jaune hands Ruby his glass and no sooner than he vanishes from sight does she choose to drink from his cup. As Jaune makes his way across the room, shoving other students aside (Some of which were not even in his path.), he stops short and watches as Pyrrha passes by. He watches her walk glumly up the stairs and seems to have a change of heart.

Ruby: I'm going to Yang.

(Y/N): Go on ahead. I'm gonna see if I can cheer Weiss up.

Ruby: Ok, (Jokingly.) but if she tries to steal you from me I'm not going down without a fight.
