A Usual Day

You woke up to the sun hitting your face through the curtain of your bedroom. As you got up, you looked outside the window to see the sea. You always had the best view of the ocean. Your house sat upon a cliff. It was a small stone house with a beautiful garden which filled with a multitude of flowers and plants. You never understood why your mother, Lilianne, was so obsessed with flowers and gardens. Since her death, you have somehow managed to keep her beloved garden alive. It's almost become a ritual in a way. Well, as you decided that you've spent enough time admiring the sea, you take a shower and get ready. You put on dark-coloured pants that come up just above your ankle and a light pink blouse. For shoes, sandals are always your go-to. You were a simple-minded girl.

You grabbed an apple and began to make your way to the school you worked at part-time. You just helped Ms. Laughton with the class. You enjoyed helping out. Once you arrived you helped Yuki with his reading as usual. Once it was noon, you headed out to the tavern, which was the second job. You had been working at the Coastal Escape since you were eight or rather your mom's death. The Coastal Escape was run by Vivian Togashaki. She was a close friend to your mother and she was well aware of stubbornness that the only to keep you from doing anything stupid when you lost your mother was to allow you to be a waitress there. She wasn't happy with a child working around drunken men and alcohol, but there was no way in hell that she would leave you to fend for yourself. Plus, knowing that you had somewhat of a stable job and had some income made her feel a little more comfortable. So fast-forward 11 years, while working at the Escape you landed a job assisting the local school. You were happy.

Once you got to the tavern you were met with the smell of alcohol and fried onion rings. Something that you used to make you sick, but now you've become accustomed to the smells and behaviour of the tavern. Opening the door, you saw the usuals and Vivian juggling three plates. You grabbed two off of her hands and smiled. "You're here! Come on, change help me!" said an exhausted Vivian with a tired smile. "Haha, okay okay! Give a minute" you said cheerfully. Three hours later, you saw everyone crowding around the window. "What's going on Lou?" you said while wiping a plate. "See anything different, huh?" you sarcastically asked. "Well..... Yeah, I guess... I mean I haven't seen a ship this size since 12 years ago or so" Lou said as he scratched his head with a burp following. You thought to yourself as this could mean a huge score for the tavern. Making quick money on some hungry and thirsty pirates.

You walked to the window and your eyes were met with a ship that looked a like a..... whale?
