"Breathe in... breathe out.." -you remind yourself, trying your best to not freak out
"I can do this, I'm just overreacting!" -He tapped his foot on the ground multiple times, he seemed lost in thought when suddenly
"Hello?" -said by a taller brown haired and green eyed boy
"A-AH!" -you jumped surprised by the sudden greeting
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" -he quickly bowed as an apology
"N-No! Please don't bow it's not your fault! I was lost in thought..." -you raised your hands up almost as if you were surrendering and swiftly shaking your head side to side turning slightly pink from embarrassment
"Well, my name is Takashi Toono, it's nice to meet you" -he extended his hand towards you for you to shake
"My name is.. L/N Y/N" - you accepted the handshake hesitantly
"Are you new here? I've never seen you around before.."
"Oh, yes I am actually!" - you gave him a tiny smile
- Toono couldn't help but smiling back at you, as if it were contagious
"So, L/N do you need any help? You kind of looked lost before"
- your cheeks reddened thinking about how stupid you looked trying to find your way around the campus grounds
"O-Oh I guess it was obvious then... yeah I do need help actually.."
- Toono stared at you in awe thinking about how cute you are, but you just felt awkward thinking he was judging you
"I-I know I looked stupid but please don't stare at me like that" - you gave him a saddened expression
"Wait, no! I didn't think you look stupid- I mean you looked cute- wait no I meant-" - he continued rambling trying to find the best way to not upset you all while becoming a blushing mess, you just looked at him with a confused face
"I think I get your point, it's okay" - you say trying to calm him down
"R-Right, thank you.." - he stopped and started catching his breath slowly turning back to his natural face tone
"If you don't mind, could you help me find my class?" - you showed him your schedule
- Toono leaned in to get a better view of the paper, eventually taking it our of your hands to see it clearly
"Wow, you're actually in the same class as me!" - he smiled returning the paper
-your face became bright realizing you wont be alone in class and you smiled back at him
"Do you mind if I stick with you today then?"
- Toono nodded and started walking his strides being longer than yours so you having to walk a little faster than normal
*a few minutes later*
~The two have made it to the classroom and quietly opened the door, all eyes on you two~
"You're late, but I'll excuse it sense you have the new student with you." - the teacher said loud and stern
"I'm sorry about that.." - he bowed multiple times and quickly sat at his seat
"Please come in and stand with me." - the teacher said looking at you with a softer expression than before
- you walked to the teacher your hands were shaking but you took a few breaths and got it together
"M-My name is L/N Y/N, and I just moved here from America... please take care of me!" you bowed swiftly staying there and hearing ramblings
- people were calling you cute and complimenting you quietly but you just thought they were being judgmental and stood up straight with a slightly saddened expression
"You can sit behind your friend over there, please try to get comfortable with your classmates though." - the teacher looked at you with kind eyes
"T-Thank you Sensei.."
-You walked past a few people giving you smiles, and little waves as others look at the person sitting next to you with envy
"Please open your notebooks to a new page and write down the following for your notes." - the teacher raised their voice so the entire class could hear
-You take out your note book and a few colored pens, making writing notes a little bit more fun
~The class went by quickly and eventually everyone was picking up their things to move onto the next one~
"Hi L/N!" - Greeted Toono
"Ahh!" - you jumped a little, but realizing it's just Toono you quickly calmed down
"Sorry again, I'll try not to scare you anymore.." - Toono sulked in apology
"No! It's fine I promise!" - you tried to get him to stop sulking, which it worked
"If you say so.." - Toono's face brightened again and waited for you to finish packing up
"To our next class then?"
"Yes! Let's go then." - You stood up and followed behind him
*In the hallway*
"Hey, L/N?" - he looked towards you
- you looked up at him still trying to maintain your pace with him making Toono realize he was going too fast so he slowed down a bit
"Phew, thank you... but you were saying?" - you looked up at him with a grateful expression
"Are you going to join any clubs?"
"Well, I'm not sure what club I wanna join yet, but I have some interest in a few.. if they have them"
"Oh really?" - he looked at you genuinely interested in what you had to say
"Yeah! I really like photography!"
- Toono's eyes shot wide "No! You can't join that club!"
"Why? Is there something wrong with it?" - you looked at him confused and tilted your head slightly to the side
"Ye-Yes! There's something really wrong with it?" - he was trying to get the idea out of your head
"How do you know? Are they just rumors? Or do they have a bad history?" - you looked at him curious
"N-No nothing like that I'm just in that club and they" - he looked at you again to see your eyes glossy and you were walking slower
"W-What's wrong?"- he slowed down as well
"Y-You don't want me in that club because you're in it?" - your eyes become more watery
- Toono thought about how cute you looked, even while on the bridge of tears frozen in thought, people giving him judgmental looks
"I-It's okay I'll leave you alone.." - you walked faster, practically speed walking
"No, wait!" - he caught up to you with little effort
"They're just really weird, and I don't think you'll like the things they do there, I really like you- I mean no I don't like you- wait I mean i don't hate you-" - he continued rambling
"Oh.. I get it, it's okay, I'm sorry for overreacting" - you looked down
"N-No it's okay I should've picked my words better" - he mentally face palmed his self for hurting your feelings like that
"Maybe you should j-join, I'm sure it'll be okay I think.." -He smiled at you, sort of unsure
- your eyes sparkled and you smiled, "Then I'll join!" you walked with a little more pep in your step excited to take pictures
- Toono cursed himself for not getting you out of the idea, but hoping you'd be okay
*Time skip* Lunch time
~Classes are over and you're on your way to the club mail boxes to drop in your application form when you bump into someone causing you to fall on your butt~
~The person who bumped into you was quick to apologize but stopped when they saw your face~
- He quickly stood up picking up your papers and handing yours to you "Aw, now I feel really guilty" he helped you stand up
"Sorry, L/N-san!"
-You nodded slightly dizzy from the sudden impact
"What're you here for? Joining a club?" - he said looking at your paper
- You snapped out of your gaze "O-Oh! Hai!"
"Well, I hope you have fun but I gotta run!" - he jogged passed you quickly patting you on the head
- You watched as his figure fades away and put your envelope in the photography club's mailbox
