It was funny how at night, things would only happen to him. What was even more ironic is how he was always nostalgic about his first love, Night when it was night-time. That made him cringe and laugh at once, it felt strange.
The morning, he wasn't able to think about him. Maybe because his mind was stuck on his work.
At night, it felt like no one could sleep. Something would always happen. Something he could slightly handle better than the villagers."Are you busy sir?
Asked Ink, his right-handed man behind the door of his office."What did we say about the whole sir thing?" Ink walked inside and replied nothing about that.
"Sir I have some work in Outertale but I might need some help." Dream sighed.
"What is it about?"
"Blue."
"Did he stole something? Sold drugs? Tried to kidnap someone for money? Married someone for taxe purposes?"
"For once no, it's something less serious and actually good for you." He almost caught himself smiling in front of his boss.
"Oh? Really? May I know what it is about?"
"We should go, he will tell you himself sir."
Dream asked the guards to keep an eye on the castle while he was gone, he knew a certain band that would try to sneak inside when he would be gone.
They quietly walked in Outertale. Ink was looking up at the sky with stars in his eyes. There was no clouds, only small golden stars surrounding the grey and full moon. He only saw the sky like this few times and it always surprised him to see how beautiful nature was."Ink." Dream suddenly spoke which made Ink shiver, he looked back at his boss with a more serious face. "Would you like to join the other guards in mission where there's more nature? I've noticed you easily get impressed by this view so I thought it could be nice for you to...-"
"No." He replied directly. "My apologies sir, but no, you do not have to do that besides it does not interest me like you said it does."
"Oh? Sorry then, I thought you did." They continued to walk in the street, under the shining sky and the small green and brownish grass. "Ink, you know you could be more relaxed and perhaps yourself around me. I promise that even though I am your boss you do not have to be this formal." Ink opened his mouth to reply but a loud voice yelled behind them. People in Outertale immediatly recognized this voice, the few window opened automatically closed.
"HI GUYS! HEYYYY I'M HERE!" Blue ran toward them before almost falling on a rock. He still elegantly appeared in front of them. "Hello my good looking sir, how are you doin'?"
"Good..night Blue, how are you this energetic at one am?"
"Good question pretty bird! Well I, the sweet, amazing and stunning Blue, got the most amazing idea!"
"Go ahead, I am listening."
"Well, you have so much work because your village is growing bigger everyday so I thought..." Before he could continue speaking happily, a loud man voice called Blue out right behind him. Neither Ink nor Dream could recognize the voice but Blue did and it seemed as if he didn't appreciate that at all. His smile disappeared and he looked like he was sweating suddenly. An anxious laugh came out of him that felt unreal.
"Sweetheart I didn't know you'd be here, who are those fellas with you?"
"Hi, hm that's Dream. You know him, he's the king of..." The man held his hand in front of him. Dream hesitated before holding it back to shake it.
