*-TRIGGER WARNING-* Spencer is struggling with Dilaudid withdrawal, and Derek takes care of him

Spencer groaned, holding his head in his hand and closed his eyes, shoving a stack of papers away from him

Derek frowned, standing and made his way over to his lover. "Spence, baby, you ok?" he asked in a soft voice, kneeling down beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder

"No.." the slightly taller male mumbled, leaning into Derek's touch. "My head is throbbing, my chest hurts, and my eyes are hypersensitive to light"

The older male sighed softly "Are you also dizzy, nauseous, and have a lack of appetite?" he asked, having a pretty good idea what was happening. Ever since the Tobias Hankle incident, Spencer had been struggling with a Dilaudid addiction. Derek has been there every step of the way to get him clean, and so far Spencer hasn't touched a needle in almost a month. Its a small win, but even the smallest victories can lead up to the biggest feelings of success

Spencer nodded, looking over at him "Yea..." He winced as his head started pounding "God, withdrawal sucks"

Derek gave him a half hearted chuckle "Thats the point, baby" he kissed the top of his curls, slowly standing him up "And this is why, Pretty Boy, we don't do drugs" he wrapped an arm around his waist to steady him "C'mon..lets get you home. I'll just tell Hotch you weren't feeling well, which isn't a lie" He grabbed Spencer's messenger bag and led him to the elevator. Derek texted Aaron that he was taking Spencer home sick

@Hotch --Alright. I'm assuming you want the rest of the day off to take care of him?--

@Morgan --yea, if thats ok--

@Hotch --It's fine. Just make sure you both catch up on paperwork when you come back. Tell Spencer I hope he gets well soon--

@Morgan --will do, thanks--

Derek pushed the elevator button, wating for the doors to open "Hotch said to tell you he hopes you feel better." Reid just mumbled in response, eyes close as he leaned against Derek.

He led an exhausted Spencer on the elevator, pushing the button for ground level. He sighed, wrapping his arms around his lovers waist "Im sorry you don't feel good, baby boy" he rested his chin atop his messy curls, holding him close

Once they got outside, Derek helped him in his truck, hopping in the drivers seat after. "Buckled?" He asked, looking over at Spencer, who nodded in response. Derek hated seing him like this. He placed a hand on the other's knee and backed out of the parking lot, making his way to their house..er, well his house that Spencer practically lived in

Once he parked in the driveway, he helped Spencer out, steading him as he stumbled a bit. "Easy, baby" he caught him, holding him close as he walked them to the door. He unlocked it and was immidietly ambushed by an excited Clooney. "Cloon, no" he scolded, as the dog tried to jump up on Spencer. He set Spencer on the couch and opened the back door, letting the dog run around for a bit

"You want anything to drink? You're probably dehydrated, all you have in your system is coffee" Derek retrieved two bottles of water from the fridge, one for him and one for Spence. He made his way back to the couch, covering the other up with a blanket and sat so that Spencer's head was resting in his lap.

"No thanks.." he mumbled, curling his legs close to him. "Well baby, I love you, but that wasn't really a question" he sighed "Just promise me you'll drink at least one bottle tonight, ok?"

Spencer turned so that he was looking up at Derek "Fine..I hate that you care so much" he teased

"Mm, no you dont" he smiled, leaning down and kissed his nose. He reached for the remote and turned on the T.V, going to Disney+ and clicked on one of the many Marvel movies he's seen over a billion times. While that played in the background, Derek gently stood and walked to the bathroom, running a washcloth under cold water for Spencer's forehead; he was complaining about hotflashes in the car. He also grabbed Tylenol, Ibeuprofin, Motrin, and any other painkiller he had in his medicine cabinet. He knew it was overkill, but he didnt know exactly what Reid needed, so he decided to let him pick which would be the best

He sat the bottles on the coffee table and made Spencer a cup of warm tea. He knew he had a water, but options didnt hurt. He brought back the cup and sighed, satisfied with himself. He set the mug by his unopened water bottle and folded the cool rag into a small rectangle. He gently lay Spencer back on his lap, laying the rag on his forehead

Spencer's eyes closed immidietly, cuddling against Derek. The older male smiled, running his fingers through his lovers curls, humming softly. "When you wake up, you can take some pain meds, and we can order whatever you want for dinner tonight. How's that sound, baby boy?" be asked in a gentle voice, looking down

Spencer was already asleep, his breathing slow and even as he curled against Derek's lap

Derek smiled, gently rubbing his arm "I love you, Pretty Boy...more than you will ever know"
