Hello there, my lovelies ^-^ sorry for being gone so long without an update, between moving, starting college, and a crap ton of personal and mental stuff, it's been insane. Writers block is slowly thawing, and three more chapters are in the works, but for now, here is another chapter for my lovely loyal dear readers, aka, you ❤️✨

Derek and Spencer are caught up at the office after a case, weathering out a nasty storm that's been hitting Virginia all weekend. Join the two lovebirds as they find ways to keep safe and sane in this melancholy weather.

Spencer sighed as he looked out the window of Derek's office at Quantico, sprawled on the couch. It's been a slow day, no case yet, and the young genius was getting antsy.

Morgan walked in with a stack of paperwork under his arm. "Bored Pretty Boy?" He asked, chuckling at the mess of long limbs on the couch.

"There hasn't been a case in approximately 14 hours, 17 minutes, and 34 seconds and counting" the genius huffed, staring at the ceiling, arms behind his head as one leg hung off the side of the couch, one propped up on the arm of the couch.

Derek shook his head and smiled "Keep counting baby and you're gonna drive yourself crazy" He sat at the end of the couch, tapping Spencer's thighs to have him raise his legs to settle in his lap. Morgan nestled back into the couch and closed his eyes, relaxed...listening to Reid mumble his case-less countdown- "Pretty Boy-" he sighed, chuckling. "Baby you know I love you, but you're gonna drive us both crazy if you keep it up" he teased.

Spencer huffed. "I'm wasting away Der" he flopped dramatically, which caused a snort from his partner. "Oh I highly doubt that baby boy. Just gotta find somethin' to do is all." He placed his hand on his knee, gently rubbing circles on his leg. Spencer smiled; he loved how clingy Derek could be, the way he spoiled him with affection. The clock of the wall above Morgan's desk filled the silence with a tick, tick, tick, tick. The boy genius sighed, swinging his legs off Derek's lap and sat up after a bit.

"I wonder if the vending machines are working now-" He rummaged in his satchel for his wallet and got a dollar. Derek smiled and shook his head. "How about some actual food love?" He got his phone out. "I can order us somethin' while we wait for the storm to end."

"No, no it's fine, I don't want the poor delivery person driving in this either-" Spencer was suddenly cut off by a flicker and hum of the building lights, before a small crack, and the power went out.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me..." Derek mumbled. Spencer jumped as the lights went out, but quickly regained his composure. "The backup generators should be kicking in by now" He reassured Spencer, who he knew wasn't the biggest fan of being in the dark. Five minutes passed, and still no lights. "Alright, maybe they won't be kicking in-...but- it's ok because look what I have" Derek pulled some tea light candles out of the drawer. He lit them and placed them on his desk and the coffee table, and an idea struck him. He smiled over at Reid. "Stay right here Pretty Boy, I'll be right back." Spencer smiled and shook his head. "Alright, love" Spencer sat in the warm glow of the candle light, criss-cross, and waited patiently for Morgan to return.

A little while passed, and as Reid started to worry, Derek walked back in, flashlight in one hand and a crudely put together picnic basket in the other. He smiled at Spencer, placing the basket from Garcia's office on his desk. "I know its not a proper picnic basket, but I know Penelope wont mind if we borrow it for a bit, and I managed to find some leftovers from her last 'Monthly Agent Get-Together' party, too" He smiled a goofy grin, pleased with himself.

Spencer stood and hugged his boyfriend tight. "This is the sweetest thing Der...I love you" The taller male smiled. "I love you too, baby boy. Always" He set up the basket, placing the blanket from the couch on the floor, the candles around it, and the basket on top. Derek took out plastic forks and plates, setting up a nice little are for the food. Reid giggled, kissing his lover on the cheek. "How romantic"

Suddenly, the lights flickered on, startling both males. "Oh...looks like they got the power working..." Reid pointed out, slightly disappointed. Morgan looked at the boy genius and smiled, getting up and turned off the lights "Who said we had to keep them on?" Reid smiled contently, scooting over to sit beside Derek, and sighed. "I wouldn't have it any other way, love"

So our two favorite loverboys enjoyed their romantic little picnic in the dark, watching the storm outside, completely lost in eachothers embrace.
