Subnautical Stranding - Subnautica Fanfic

The Ocean

The Lifepod landed. I was looking out the window still in shock. How would we get back? Would we even live? What was beyond the Lifepod I was now essentially stranded in with my friend.

At least I knew one thing for certain, Kodi was okay. That was one good thing.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Kodi. His expression had it's usual sternness but now it was saddened. By a lot. He must have felt the same way I did.

"We need to find the rest of our crew.." He said. I knew he was right and nodded.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the window, he let go to climb the ladder and I followed behind

I climbed out the hatch and there were these... birds? They weren't exactly birds though. They looked like they had fins instead of wings, as if they had evolved from a waterborne animal. It was gray and about the width of my hand. They were kinda cute!

"Wow.." I heard Kodi mutter under his breath in amazement.

I took out my scanner from its holster and scanned one of them that had landed on the Lifepod.

"A skyray." I stated.

"What?"

"That's what its called . A skyray" I smiled at him.

"So, we going in the water or--"

He was cut off by me diving in the water. I was in pure, inexplicable awe!

There were one eyed fish, underwater versions of those skyray, glowing fish, different forms of coral that I had never seen, everything!

I stared in awe before Kodi dived in and stared at them the same way I was.

We must have been there for a while before my PDA beeping "Oxygen" at me so I swam back up to the surface. This place was so gorgeous.

I was reminded of what happened to get me here when I looked up and saw the flaming remains of what I had called home for the past few months; The Aroura.

I sighed and retreated back underwater

Maybe this could be okay..?
