Pain exploded over Naruto, overwhelming his senses and setting his nerve endings on fire. It was such incomparable agony that his vision darkened moments before him. He couldn't even cry out in pain when he was suddenly unconscious. The last thing he saw before falling asleep was Orochimaru who threw him away.

Sakura was completely in awe at witnessing the association between Naruto and Sasuke. She had never imagined that Naruto and Sasuke, who seemed completely opposite to each other, could function so perfectly. It was only the seriousness of her situation that prevented him from cheering her up.

He raised a fist in victory when he saw the Sannin being swallowed up by the huge fire jutsu that Naruto and Sasuke launched together. His feeling of joy turned to outright horror when he saw that Orochimaru had survived, without a scratch.

It was just pure reflex that she managed to pin Naruto to a tree before he fell to his death. She looked at him, completely terrified, but she stepped in front of Sasuke with a kunai held in reverse. She wouldn't let anything happen to Sasuke, she thought. Orochimaru suddenly leapt forward, to her disgust and horror, his neck elongated and extended, his fangs clenched.Sasuke pushed her aside, allowing the snake ninja to sink his fangs into the boy's neck, causing a seal of sorts to appear. However, her scream ... it was terrible and she was sick of hearing it.

Sasuke fell to his knees, still screaming, and then abruptly stopped and slumped forward, unconscious but still in pain. Orochimaru chuckled and looked at Sasuke with satisfaction in her eyes. "Now show me more of your power, Sasuke-kun. You were good, but you can be much older than Naruto-kun."

He then looked at the pink haired girl, who flinched at his gaze. He chuckled, "Don't worry Sakura-san, you're not my target. If you silently give me your roll of dirt, I won't kill you." He watched as the pink-haired girl pulled the earth scroll out of her bag and held it with shaking hands. He snatched it from her hands and quickly disappeared in a swirl of leaves.

Sakura fell to her knees with relief and exhaustion. She trembled at the way he addressed her. She felt completely bad. She looked at Naruto hanging from the kunai on the tree and Sasuke on the ground, and for the first time in a long time, she felt completely desperate.

Naruto slowly opened his eyes, groaning in pain as he stood up. "That Orochimaru is a tough bastard," he grimaced. 'Kurama, are you there?'

The only thing that greeted him was the silence of the great demon.

"Yes, as I suspected. It has been completely severed. And I cannot undo this seal because, at the very least, the counter requires control of a jonin's chakra, not to mention that it will require a strange chakra other than my own. It made a seal. half-ram and tried to create a shadow clone, but it looked worse than death. Pale skin tone, as tough as a blade of grass, not to mention he could barely get up from lying on the ground before being dispelled.

Naruto tried again, this time with the crossed seal. He nodded in relief when a healthy shadow clone appeared. Dispelling it, he tried to feel the chakra signatures, but had great difficulty shaping the chakra in the required manner. He sighed and got up, stumbling from the momentum of his head. He steadied himself for a few seconds, then nodded. Aside from the terrible chakra control, he was physically fine ... almost.

When he came out of the bottom of the tree, his eyes widened when he saw what was happening.

Sakura was on the ground, looking like she had been attacked by all the terror in the world. Team ten was behind the bushes, looking terrified. Their bodies were filled with tension as they stared at the scene before them. She even saw Tenten and an unknown boy, standing on a branch, trying to decide what to do. Seeing their gazes on an unconscious Lee, she deduced that it was Team Nine.
