The Intern

"Bucky wake up"

Bucky woke up in his bed with Steve standing beside him.

"Come on Buck we're meeting the new intern"
"What's their name?"
"Emma"

Emma.
Now that was a name he hadn't heard in a while. He smiled remembering his doll before the war, how she had wanted her granddaughter to be named Emma. Then a few years ago he had actually met her granddaughter at the training program for the Winter Soldiers, and how she had suddenly disappeared. That thought didn't bring back good memories.

"Bucky,"Steve said snapping him out of his thoughts,"Earth to Bucky."

"Sorry just lost in thought"

"Well hurry up we're going to be late."

"I'll be out in a minute."

"Ok"

Once Bucky was dressed in his old Hydra uniform, the only thing he had clean, he went to find Steve and meet the new intern. Once he found Steve they went into the conference room and Bucky sat in the back out of old habit. Examining his bruised knuckles from the training session the previous day he didn't notice Pepper and Tony enter the room.

"Ladies, gentlemen, and Winter Soldier,"

Tony said making Bucky feel even more out of place,

"I would like to introduce our new intern Ms. Emma Palpatine."

Time seemed to stand still, because when she walked in Bucky immediately knew who she was. The same girl he had been remembering just moments ago. The one he thought Hydra had killed.

"Emma?"
