It was 5 months later, summer was approaching and Lottie could practically feel the warm heat against her skin. "Ok, the Maravish summer ball is coming and WE NEED A DRESS," Ellie was sprawled on her bed, Lottie next to her, sketching something in her sketch book. "I was thinking, maybe we should design our own dresses this year?" Lottie beamed, showing Ellie a dress design she'd been working on for the past hour. It was a shoulder-free gown with small golden flowers at the top, it was a light pink to pastel yellow ombre. "Lottie, how the hell did you draw that?" Ellie commented in a sarcastic tone, she snatched the sketch-book from Lottie's hand and pointed to the design in panic "I'm speechless, would it be ok if you make one for me?"
Lottie giggled "Of course! I already have an idea,"
"Jamie would be filled of joy if he saw you in that,"
Lottie's cheeks burned bright red, she tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear furiously. "I hope so," she mumbled, making a rough outline for Ellie's ball gown. Ellie pulled herself up "What do you mean you 'hope so'?" she made speech-mark icons with her fingers "You've been dating for 5 months at the least. Not to mention, you guys were literally IN LOVE before you even started going out,"
At this point Lottie felt like a wild fire about to outrage, she felt herself blush even harder. She rapidly changed her focus to her sketch, Ellie chuckled, she was about to fall off the bed. "I've never seen anyone blush that hard! Stop it-I can't I-" Ellie was on the floor, laughing so hard you could practically see tears coming from her eyes. Lottie gave Ellie a kick in the arm "Don't make me embarrassed,"

"Ellie, why are you shaking?" Lottie cuffed her hand around Ellie's vibrating arms, it was the night of the Maravish summer ball. The 2 best friends were behind the grand door, the door where Lottie would be announced as the 'princess.' "I don't know! Leviathan maybe?" Ellie hesitated each breath she took, her black midnight gown flowing behind her that Lottie had designed. The two were dressed in their dresses, they looked like polar opposites, but then again, they were best friends. Lottie fiddled with a strand of her hair "If anyone should be scared it's me, I'm the one going in there as the princess to dance with my boyfriend or the princess' Partizan, meaning everyone will think you and Jamie have are in a committed relationship,"
Ellie stood with her eyes wide and jaw dropped "Ok, I'm not scared anymore,"
Lottie giggled "Let's go in then!" the doors opened, a man announcing her arrival on the way. Lottie gave a curtsy and made her way down the marble stairs, her eyes scanning the crowd of royals. She had her crescent moon tiara above her immense blonde curls, reminding her of her past and ancestors; she smiled at this thought.
I will be kind, I will be brave, I will be unstoppable.
She spotted Jamie at the front of all the people in the room. He was wearing a black suit, his hair was tamed, he didn't look like Jamie. Slowly, he reached his hand out for her and she took it, bowing at the end of the staircase while the audience applauded. Once they had settled down, a waltz song began. "May I have this dance?" Jamie grinned, bowing once again.
Lottie giggled "Yes you may,"
The two glided across the room, it felt like the world had just stopped for them; for this moment. Lottie could no longer feel the stare of everyone's eyes, she could only feel her heart thundering and the love for this boy in front of her. "What did you do to your hair?" she whispered into his ear, twirling at the same time. He raised a brow "I tamed it, I guess."
Lottie ran her fingers through his tamed hair, his hair immediately broke. free from its prison, now he looked like the wolf she always knew. "I like it better like this," said Lottie in a hushed tone, she placed her head on his shoulder. He rubbed her back in response "You look beautiful,"
Lottie smiled "Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself."
Lottie raised her head and pressed her lips against his, he squeezed her hand. "I love you, Jamie Volk," Jamie put his arms around her waist and pulled her in into a tight embrace, making Lottie smile. "I love you too, my princess."
