CHAPTER 015.
tw/cw - none
translation in parentheses

TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY IN NC. And the blonde found herself in the car of Jimmy's listening to rap ( from the male's playlist ). She didn't mind the music since there were some calmer songs in the playlist since he was kind enough to add for the half hour long drive.

Upon arrive, she didn't really feel much emotion until she was faced with the beard male standing there with a bag of Swedish Fish, a childhood favorite candy of hers. The smile on his face that crinkled his nose a bit, the familiar smile that never seemed to leave her memory but seeing it in person after years, she felt euphoric.

Letting her feet carry herself towards him, they embrace into a hug with the father whispering hello's as he sway the two. Ximena was the first to pull apart to stare her father in his eyes letting the smile grow.

"Hola, mija. How was your trip here?"

"It was good, Jimmy drove me." She explains pointing behind her seeing Jimmy waving. Her father returned the gesture signing the driver off.

"Look, I got you these." He brought the bag of sweets up. It was a simple gift yet meant so much that he even remembered. "You better still eat them." He jokes as his daughter took the bag into her hands.

"Thank you, pa." Looking down at the bag she chuckles knowing why he had bought a big bag.

"Come in, I want to know more about those Simon boys."

Ximena chuckles as she stepped into the house. "It's Sidemen, but they're all fine." Her eyes seemed to check the whole house seeing if there was anything new about it even if it was a paint job, but nothing seemed new.

The two made small talk as her father showed off his new hobby, woodworking. Each piece was told with a story even if it wasn't as import than the last, she listened. The one thing about her father she adored was how he ranted about his newfound topic. And for him, he liked how his daughter could make him laugh at the dumbest things.

After spending a few minutes in the shed outside, the two went back inside to the couch to just talk and snack on the bag of sweets.

"I saw your photo on Twitter with that niño." ( boy ).

"Which one?"

"El que es amigos con Jimmy." ( the one who is friends with Jimmy ).

"Karl?"

"Yes. Is he your novio?" ( boyfriend ).

Ximena pounds on her chest as she chokes on her candy. "No, I don't have one." She spoke after regaining back her voice.

"Novia tampoco?" ( girlfriend either ).

"No, no."

"If you do don't tell your ma, yeah?" The two shared a small laugh together. "What matters is that you're happy whether it's a girl or boy and if they treat you right." He leaned forward on the couch to take a couple more candy. "All I care is you being happy, you know that right?"

"I do." Even if they had this talk a couple of times, she always felt welcomed. The fact she had at least one supporting parent was just enough.

By the time their together had ended, Jimmy had picked her up and drove her back to Karl's place to say her final goodbyes.

One by one, they hugged and bid their goodbyes. At some point, Ximena had dragged Karl away from the group and into the bathroom since it was the closest. Once inside, she locked the door and turned to face Karl who was fiddling with his fingers.

"Close your eyes."

"Is this where you kill me?" The boy nervously chuckles.

"I wouldn't, now close your eyes." She watches as the boy covers his eyes with his hands. "Now open."

Slowly opening his eyes in fear, but saw her hands cupping a necklace that had the pull tab's of two Monster can's shaped into a heart. He took it into his hands inspecting it while she hops on the sink counter.

"Put it on me?" His lips were slightly pouting which she found cute. Ximena clipped the necklace around his neck with her cold hand brushing against his neck. Once, the act was over, he turned to face the mirror. "I love it."

"I knew you would." Her hand went on his chin making his head turn to face her. "I'm going to miss you."

Karl sighs as he moved over to stand in between her legs. "Me too, I'm sure we can call and text even with us hours apart." He spoke calmly with his finger running circles just above her knee. "It's just what, a month and a half before you have to move back here?"

"Yeah." Her hand falls on his necklace staring down at it. "You have this impact on me, Karl." She hesitantly spoke. "I just met you four weeks ago yet I feel like we've been friends- like childhood friends you know? I just don't want this to end, I mean even with Jimmy and them, I feel like it's hard to keep up because of time zones. . . I lost friends because of it and I just don't want to lose you as well."

The moment she finished, she felt stupid for spiling her emotions onto the boy. She regrated every word she had said. She knew he wouldn't feel the same because he had stopped rubbing circles on her knee.

"We can make it work, I'm friends with many people with different time zones. We-we could even sync ours if you wanted!" His voice was lace with a soft tone. His hand place gently on her chin rising it upwards so their eyes could meet. "You won't lose me, Nina."

"Really?"

"Yeah, plus I really enjoy being with you."

"Loser." She jokes sniffling her nose.

"I hate you."

"Sure, you do, darling, sure you do."
