My sword hovered above my brother's neck as he slowly dropped his.
"For the last time, do not pick a fight with me," I say as I lower my sword.
Seth just rolled his eyes and walked away with his sword. I start walking towards my room but my mom steps in the way.
"You've been fighting with Seth?"
"He's the one who started it!" I say defensively.
"Look, I know he's the older one, but you are definitely much more responsible-"
"Yes, I know I'm your favorite, and I'm more respon-" I stop as my mom's eyes stare into my soul. "Sorry"
"Good. Now can you please go to your room and practice your spells? And no lethal or dangerous ones, please."
I scurry to my room before she can say anymore and open up my spellbook. I don't remember a single day I've learned something safe...but it's just to prepare for self defense.
The spell I'm reading goes:
"On your clothes they shall scurry and you shall not leave in a hurry. Their legs will tickle your face, and your body they will encase."
I step out of my room and head to the entrance of the palace. I look at a guard and whisper the spell, and soon enough I see spiders crawling from the ground up to his legs. He turns his head towards me and waves his finger through the air and the spiders are suddenly gone.
"I've had enough of your tricks Sigmund. So I learned a few of my own."
The guard waves his hand up and I move along with it.
"Would be a shame if my father were to hear about this wouldn't it?" I say smiling innocently. The guard frowns and puts me down, and stands back into position like nothing ever happened.
I walk towards the gardens and walk around, realizing I never really have before. As I was walking I see a well and ran to it. I gaze all the way down and see nothing but pitch black.
I whisper, "Light shall appear like an orb in my hand, and it shall crumble to dust as I say the word sand."
The orb of light forms in my hand and I move the orb towards the bottom of the well to only see the orb turn to purple dust.
I frown as the dust slowly forms back to an orb. The orb shoots up and hits me in the eyes and then seemingly vanishes.
"UGH!," I yell as the light blinds me before I black out.
