While Elena contemplated her biggest decision of her young life, Evelyn stumbled back to her suite that she shared with her pig of a husband. She carried the .45 at her side, only concealing it whenever she passed someone in the hall. Once the door was open, she knew exactly what she was going to find.

She saw the messages before they had come on the trip, but even without the messages it didn't take much to see what was still going on. He could apologize all he wanted and say he would never do it again, but once a cheater always a cheater.

Thanks to the recent pandemic, cruise prices had dropped exponentially. So, dipping into their rainy-day fund, they came on this trip to salvage what was left of their marriage, but she knew that ship had sailed before theirs had even docked. When he had first gotten this job the .45 was a gift for Evelyn. He knew he was going to be working late a lot, so he wanted her to feel safe. He would soon wish that he had gotten her mace instead.

Looking up at the door she passed she saw the number, 402. Only five rooms to go. When she originally packed the .45, she hadn't quite decided what she was going to do on this trip, but a couple of drinks down at the open bar seemed to make the decision for her.

The night before she had gone out to enjoy the sunset. Of course, he hadn't been feeling well so he chose to stay back in their room and 'sleep it off'. Returning from watching the beautiful sunset, he appeared to be a man of his word, sound asleep in the middle of their bed. Little did he realize, the scratch marks down his back were still visible, along with the cheap perfume that still lingered in the sheets.

405. Nearly there. She tucked the piece into her shirt yet again as someone approached her from the far end of the hall. She slurred a hello in passing, not caring how drunk she sounded. Drunk or not, she had a job to do.

Finally, she had arrived; room 407. The suite she shared with her husband, as well as his side piece. Looking down at the handle, the 'Do Not Disturb' sign hung there telling Evelyn everything she needed to know. She hoped they didn't mind if she joined the room with her side piece. Looking up and down the hallway, not a soul could be seen moving around. Evelyn unlocked the door as quietly as she could so not to disturb the lovely couple.

The range of emotions that crossed her husbands face were astounding. He went from pleasure, to confusion. Evelyn was supposed to be out watching the sunset again, but the sun had not set so why had she returned? His face then went from confusion to fear as he spotted the .45 she carried at her side. Evelyn walked into the room, swinging the door shut behind her.

"No sense in hiding now, is there Janice?" she questioned, firing at the lump of covers next to her husband. From there everything went blank.
