Me and sky had to go to an interview, the guys all went to the merch booth to help sell stuff, which is kind of stupid leaving me and sky to do an interview ourselves, if they ask anything about important stuff we won’t know the answer. We were sitting on the couch with the interviewer sitting in between us.
“So how has warped been so far” she asked pointing the mic towards sky.
“Ehh, it’s been good, we’ve wanted to play here since we were 14, but it’s kinda strange as well cause were playing alongside bands we look up to and who inspire us”
“A lot of people have been asking what your band name means” she said pointing the mic back towards sky.
“Riley can answer this one” sky said and the interviewer reluctantly turned the mic towards me.
“it’s just basically, saying give us a reason to be here, to stay and stuff, it’s just what justify means but its justify us cause we want a reason to be around, we want a reason to stay” I said before shrugging, it’s kind of an obvious answer, it’s not a complicated name.
“When did the band start?”
“whenever me and riley went to each others houses when we were younger we would always end up just playing through songs, then we got the idea to start a band so we put up adds on stuff like gumtree and eventually the guys replied. It fully started like the whole band when we were 15, but it had been just me and riley for a couple years before that.”
“You’re from Scotland aren’t you” we nodded in response “do you have a big fan base there”
“Kind of, we play every Saturday at this club near where we live along with a few other bands. So we have fans who come every week to that but it’s not that many” sky answered. I saw Sebastian walking by the door.
“Yo manwhore” I shouted earning a disapproving look from the interviewer.
“What’s up slut” he shouted back walking over to us.
“Come join our interview” I said standing up since there was no more room on the couch, he sat down and I sat on his knee. “This smexy guy right here is Sebastian, he’s the bassist for screams in silence, you should all go check them out.”
“So how do you know each other” the interviewer asked pointing the mic towards me, she obviously thought she had some gossip coming her way but she would be sadly disappointed.
“We’ve known each other since we were 3, he’s my bestest friend. Plus his band plays the same club as us”
“I thought I was your bestest friend” sky asked faking being hurt.
“Your my bestest girlfriend, he’s my bestest guy friend” I said and she stopped faking being hurt. After this interview we had another one with Bryan stars which we couldn’t wait for all three of us watch his videos all the time. Sebastian gave me a piggyback over to where we were being interviewed. “Do you mind if Sebastian joins the interview, he’s in screams in silence” I asked, hoping he would agree.
“Sure, you can stay on his back for the interview if you want” then the camera started rolling, “I’m here with Skylar and riley from justify us and Sebastian from screams in silence. They are two new bands from Scotland playing warped this year”
“Hey, this is so awesome, we watch your videos all the time, your interviews with Andy beirsack and asking Alexandria are the best” I said.
“Good to hear, so what’s the most embarrassing story about each of you”
“oh Sebastian got really drunk one night when we were 16 and decided to run down the street naked but it was really icy and he fell on his ass just as his mum was walking up the path, she saw and brought him back into the house and started washing the dirt off him while he was still completely naked” I said excitedly, I loved telling this story cause it embarrasses him so much.
