Chapter 3: Going to Harry's

-Katelynn's POV-

I was happy to find out that Kaylnn and I shared the last three classes after lunch. She was a good friend, one I'm glad I made.

The final bell rang, indicating school was over. I grabbed my things and stood up simultaneously with Kaylynn. She smiled, "Are you doing anything today?"

I shook my head, "Not until like 6. Wanna hang out?"

She grinned, "Exactly what I was thinking. We could go to Jamba Juice and just finish our homework?"

I nodded excitedly, "Sounds like a plan! But I don't have a ride," i sighed.

"Oh that's fine! I can drive, I'll take you!" she pushed.

"Well let's go then! Can we stop by my house first? I need to get some money," I asked.

She nodded eagerly as we walked out to her car, she had a grey Lamborghini Revention 2008. I was impressed, "Wow. Your car looks...expensive."

She chuckled, "It is! Daddy owns this big company so he gets me pretty much everything I want."

"That's cool. I didn't expect you to be a rich girl. Most people stereotype them as snobby and conceited. But you're definitely neither of those!" I laughed

She got her keys out unlocking the car, gesturing me to sit in the passenger seat. "Yeah. I get that a lot. But I don't see the point of being like that. Even if I am rich." she continued, "Now you know I have a lot of money, would you like me to buy your Jamba Juice?"

I shook my head, "No! I hate when people do favors for me I can't return."

She started the ignition, "Darling, let's call it a welcome gift. Okay?"

I reluctantly nodded as she drove us to Jamba Juice. We talked about everything. She seemed like a really cool person. Once we got there and ordered our drinks, we sat down.

We started our homework and I noticed a group of really stunning girls walk in...heading straight to us, "Hey Kaylynn! I'm having a party Saturday at 7. You're welcome to come!" the blonde one with blue eyes encouraged, completely oblivious to the fact I was also there.

"Sure I'd love to. As long as my friend Katelynn here can come," Kaylynn gestured to me.

The blonde girl smiled sweetly, "Sure," and she walked off with her possy following.

Once they were out of hearing distance I nudged Kalynn, "Who were they?"

"Well if you haven't noticed, there are cliques at our school," I nodded and she continued, "Well they are the sweet popular group. They are the ones that every single person in the school loves."

I nodded. We continued conversing while doing our homework until I heard my phone ring. I looked at the caller ID "Unkown". Hmmm..

I answered it anyway. "Hello?"

"Err..hello." a raspy voice said through the phone.

"May I ask who this is?" I asked politely,

The boy on the other side of the phone gulped, "It's Harry. My mum had your number in the school directory. Are you coming over? It's 6:10..." he said awkwardly.

Oh my god, I completely forgot about the science project, "Oh gosh Harry! I'm so sorry! I'll be right over! See you soon," and I hung up the phone. I turned to Kaylynn who had a confused expression on her face. "I was suppose to go to Harry's to work on our science project! Do you mind giving me a ride?"

She grinned, "Not at all."

Before I knew it, I was knocking on his door. I was surprised to see a brunette girl who resembled some of the same features as him. She looked to be about 19 or 20 as she smiled at me, "Hi! I'm Gemma, Harry's older sister. I'm sure you're Katelynn?" I nodded. "His room is up the stairs and to the left. Have fun," she winked.

'Have fun"? Why would she say that?

I walked up the stairs, clutching my backpack close to me. I walked in his room, revealing a shirtless Harry. I immediately turned away.

"What's the matter...Katelynn is it?" he pondered.

"Ermm..you don't have a shirt on?" I said more as a question.

He chuckled, "Wow. Here I'll put one on. So what's your ideas for the project," he asked as he rummaged through his dresser.

I grinned, "We can do a behavior project." He cocked an eye brow. "Let's call it 'Is Smiling Contagious', do you like my idea?"

He smirked, "It must be contagious. Because you've got me smiling. Love, the idea is amazing." I was confused...is he flirting with me?

No. He has a girlfriend. And he said I was unattractive.

He sat down on his bed, patting the spot next to him for me to sit down. I gulped, almost instantly regretting the question I was about to ask him, "Do you...do you really think I'm unnatractive?"

I could tell my question shocked him. "Yes."

I don't know why Harry saying I was unnatractive hurt me so much. But it did. I have been called much worse, and this affected me more than any of the harsh words said to me.

I stood up, holding back the tears. "Well since we figured out an idea...I'm going to go home. Good bye Harry."

I turned around and shut the door, running down the stairs and out the door.

Why can't I be pretty? What's wrong with me?
