After staying out of class for almost three weeks Privee was forced to start attending classed again. The first two days were not enjoyable since her body was still aching and she had a pounding headache due to the curse.
On the third day she was sitting in transfiguration working on vanishing spells. Privee had been able to vanish her glass goblet fairly quickly and sat down as her vision swept the classroom. Many people like her had found the goblet very easy to vanish.
What she didn't see was a Hufflepuff behind her very much struggling with the spell.
"Evanesco, evanesco, evanesco, EVANESCO." With a final jab of his wand the glass in front of his shattered all across the room. A small shard hit Privee. And that small amount of magic infused glass caused all of her newly healed wounds to open right back up again.
The last thing the blond saw was Marlene running to catch her while she fell to the floor in a puddle of blood.
Marlene was standing over her best friends body as she heard Professor McGonagall shouting orders at students. She was pushed out of the way as James and Sirius pulled her onto a stretcher that was instantly pulled away by Madam Pomfry running to the hospital wing.
Marlene didn't give it a second thought before sprinting after her, Lily close behind her. James and Sirius were held back by McGonagall and Peter hadn't even stood up from his chair.

Fear
That's all Marlene and Lily felt as the sad on a bed in each others arms as the watched Madam Pomfry heal their bestfriend. After another half an hour of waiting their alone their friends joined them staring at the still curtain.
Marlene was still wrapped in Lily's arms and tears ran down her face, and she couldn't help but wish she was in Privee's arms instead.
Forty-five minutes later the mediwitch emerged from the curtains.
"How is she?" Marlene jumped up immediately.
"She's doing ok, she's sleeping now." Pomfry tried to put a smile on her face but as soon as the small smiled appeared it fell right off.
"Then what's wrong?" James asked crossing his arms.
"I need one of you get the headmaster for me, then we can talk." As soon as the words left her mouth Alice and Mary were sprinting out of the Hospital wing in the direction of the headmasters office.
As soon as the two girls came back with the headmaster the two went into the office and the door was shut with a silencing charm. The teens sat their in anticipation for only ten minutes but felt like hours.
Marlene's thoughts were going wild with things like, what if she died and Pomfrey's lying to us and what if she dies before we even got to fully know each other, it was odd to Marlene how someone she had know for not even four months could have this much effect on her. But that was the least of her worries right now.
Inside the office the adults were just as scared.
"And that's the only way?" Pomfrey asked.
"I'm sure of it." Dumbledore replied.
"Who would risk it you need an almost perfect match if you want it to have a possibility of succeeding."
"The closest match we have is Ms. Evans."
"There is no one closer in the school?"
"No one that cares enough to take that risk."
"Lets go inform the students then." Madam Pomfrey said grimly.
As Madam Pomfrey left the office with Dumbledore at her heals all the teens head snapped towards them.
"What's wrong?"
"Is she ok?"
"What's happening to her?"
"Is she ever going to be ok?"
"When will she wake up?"
"Is she going to wake up?" Sirius asked in a whisper. Tears were still running down his already tear stained face.
Marlene was quiet and kept herself rolled up in a ball on one of the beds, quiet tears rolling down her face.
"She should be ok except that the curse that was inflicted on her was dark magic."
"So what does that mean?" Remus asked her.
"There is only one way to make sure that she could make a full recovery but it is very risky."
"And if we don't do this?"
"Then Ms. Mallory will most likely die."
"Ok, so obviously we are doing this super risky way. What is this super risky way exactly.?" Sirius asked.
"It's called a blood blinding spell."
